Honestly, I was shot down before the season saying this, but we still have not got a A Class mid in our side. We need them ASAP. I would be doing everything to get 2 A Class mids in the next two drafts. But who could we offer?

- Watson (quite a possibility, and has trade value)
- McPhee (I like him, but as a forward I see nothing more than a solid forward, we could get a 1st rounder for him, and in a strong draft it would be good!)

What do you guys recon?
 
Yes it can, and a A Class midfielder wins premierships. Even Sydney have two A Class midfielders in Goodes and Kirk, do we even have ONE? McVeigh is borderline, but even he is a stretch for a A Class mid!

No, It can't when you've only got two B-Grade midfielders(Watson and Spike) and the rest are C-Graders. We need a better midfield as a whole. Not just one better midfielder...

I believe thats why we drafted jetta, myers and houli.. all are class, but need time...

C Grade is being generous to Slattery. D or E is more like it! If we get Rich and or Swift, play Hislop, then have Spike and Watson it looks a lot better. We need Rich!

Only Myers will be a A Class mid. Jetta I have severe reservations on his ability as a midfielders, houli- maybe, but still not enough.
 
We need a good tagger, i think we should go for Kieran Jack or try and nab one of geelongs midfielders, they will probably need to get rid of someone to relieve salary cap pressure.
 
I reckon this is a stupid thread. We all know we need A class mids, noone shut you down for saying that so don't try to make yourself sopund like the voice of reason. You just come off as an idiot who is regurgitating stuff we have discussed over and over without giving anything new. Completely pointless thread.

Actual mids..remember Joel Selwood I cringe every time I see him as we should have picked him at no2! Our drafters have made some blunders imo. That is my point

Not that i normally like to speculate on end of season things so early, but i reckon we should make a play for prismall... good player who isn't getting played despite good vfl form...

Also i remember a few years back tigers fans boasting about Tambling, while franklin was playing in vfl RESERVES!! now look at it.. stupid to compare the too, when everyone knows kpps take longer in general, and gumby has had awful luck. Selwood is a good player, but it a FAR FAR FAR too early to speculate on that pick.

Dead agreed, I wanted to trade McPhee for him last year. A hard body as well..yet we kept Dyson..great work Knights:thumbsd:

Yes KPP's take longer, but Gumbleton has missed two years of development (key years) and Bomber Thompson has said a number of times that Selwood is much better than Bartel, Ablett and Corey at the same time. Obvioulsy Selwood doesnt pull a tag and probably would if he was playing for us (atleast it would give the taggers a matchup they get bored when they play the bombers without Hird). That said though so far Selwood looks the pick out of the draft.....

Exactly. It is a hell of a lot easier to look good in a great side, sorrounded by great players who lift you up, than to be a star in a poor team, where you are dragged down.

Who keep you out of the team, get the ball at the bottom of a pack before you can, get it passed to ahead of you because they are a better kick. All of that jazz.


Selwood is a gun, would love him at essendon I think he will win a brownlow. In the last quarter of this weeks and last weeks matches he was amazing when his team needed it so let's not try and use a crap argument to say he's only good because of the team he is in and is really a dud. If he was an outside player (TJ, Stanton etc.) It would have merit but now it does not. Still Gumbleton could very well be the next carey so i'm not calling this a mistake just yet and if it does end up a mistake it was because of bad luck (injuries) not lack of talent

Can you try getting some semblence of information before spouting thsi continual stream of drivel?

Essendon tried to get Prismall, along with many other clubs, but Geelong weren't having a bar of it. In addition, trading McPhee for him is one fo the worst trade ideas I have ever heard, as Geelong would have only wanted draft picks and McPhee is worth much more than Prismall.

i dont think knighter would put watson or mcphee up for trade


also if selwood came to essendon i dont think that he would be as good as he is at the cats because we dont yet have the quality players in our team to help a guy like this ,which they have at the cats ,he would also get tagged nearly every game
