I think Collard is a must.
We have had to put Dessie in the pocket as the small forward and as CC has a reluctance to play Webster all game we lose the two people in the team who can actually deliver the ball to our forwards.

I would like to see this next week.

Int: Warnock Bell Foster Ibbotson.

Out: Cook, Matt Carr, Parker.

Black and Hayden can change if we are getting towelled in the back pocket, Webster to play a whole game as an attacking half forward and midfielder.

Lot of young kids there but we were shit today and they deserve to get a run. I have no idea how they are going but they can't be worse than the crap that was served up by some out there today
 
You have 4 in and have only named 3 in your outs.

I haven't seen a lot of Foster, but he looks like a high possession player in a similar mould to Macca. We need midfielders with flare and pace, not another plodder.

Hayden is much better suited out the back of the pack to receive the handball than at the coalface.

Ibbo isn't ready.

Matt Carr won't be dropped unfortunately. :mad:

Has anyone got a credibke reason why Webster, who was the only one hitting an effing target spent so much time on the bench...I sound like a broken record but he was very good and doesn't get any respect from the coach.

I think long term we need to draft some kids with the qualities we want ( i know I have been saying this for two years now BUT!!!!). Cale Morton, Chris Masten, even Trent Cotchin - fast skilled midfielders who have had reputations for some time and that are likely Top 5 draftees. If we have to trade to get higher picks to get them then so be it. And then we have to give them time and train them properly.....

But in the mean time, we couldn't do any worse by:

(1) Giving Webster significantly more opportunities as a centreman, he doesn't have great speed, but at least he would be injecting a relatively big kick (which is pretty accurate ATM) into the middle of the ground;
(2) Bring Collard into the team. Collard could play a small forward role straight away. Some time on the Wing/HBF would also be really good for his development.
(3) Bring Drum back in when he has had a few games where he has 20+ possessions as a centreman. The problem is that he isn't a natural midfielder (He is similar to Pavlich in that he is a fast big guy who wasn't brought up in the middle of the ground). But the potential is there....
(4) Watch the form of Smith and Foster. Both are big fast midfielders, with Smith having a penchant for kicking goals. If they get some form up, lets not be scared to promote them.

what??? Ok so CC just sit back and not do anything about it. Keep playing the same style and the same ****ing players that look like they have no idea when the ball hits the ground in the forward line.

Bringing in a kid like Collard for someone like Headland, M Carr or Walker it can only be a win/win even if we do lose the game. I am not expecting the kid to win the game off his own boot but he will be the winner in terms of AFL experience and match fitness.

But hey, Collard is no Varcoe, Jetta, Davey or Dick so let him just keep kicking 4 goals a game for South Freo.

What I cant understand is why Walker is never given free reign to find the football. The constant whinge in AFL ranks is the dockers lack of pace.

You have the fastet player in the game in your side. Let him find the footy and let his teammates protect him.

Walker has never used his pace as an advantage in any AFL game.

If you didn't know you would never believe he is as fast as he is.
