Too often is the stadium so dark you can't see properly and all we have are the crappy training lights that make almost no difference. Every other major footy stadium has lights, even Darwin has lights so why doesnt Geelong???

isnt skilled stadium getting another upgrade to around 35,000 capacity? maybe they could fit some lights in when they do that, and a proper scoreboard/video screen :thumbsu:

Darwin has lights because they play a lot of night footy up there due to the heat factor.
True but still even Aurora Stadium has lights (had to check the AFL site for that lol). And its not like this problem has came up in the last few years or so its always been like this.

I agree, the light situation at Skilled is pretty abismal. Justthink with proper lights we could play some home night games there.

The only hope of ever seeing night AFL games at SS is if Osama and his wacky followers blow up the MCG and the Phone Box.

Yeah, Aurora Stadium's got lights, they only get used about four times a year though.
I reckon it would be awesome to have proper lights at Skilled, would be good to be able to play home games under lights and get extra tv exposure.
In the NRL a lot of the venues used on Friday nights are only little grounds with capacity of 15,000 or so.

There is no need for them. We'd use them once or twice a season and for the cost to buy them, install them then operate them it wouldn't be worth it.

Would be a great to see night footy at Skilled though.
We at least need stronger lights then the training lights. Have a few night games down there. They would be used only a few times less then SCG lights per year since Sydney play some night games at TS but there is cricket. And we should turn them on if it gets too dark which happens a lot.
