Its not just toughness, that'll come with more footy together...
Our core right now is way better then the Hawks list 1-2 years ago..
it'll take time and a clean up of the junk we have hanging on!

But really all you need is a Luke Hodge who can comand respect, hit a pack hard and hit someone on the tit with either foot

Oh wait... do we have one of someone like that??

Richard Hadley. People on this board should watch some of the games from our first few rounds when Hadley played. Don't think many of you recognise how good he will be if he is injury free.

I agree, a fully fit Hadley will do wonders for our side, just a hard nut in the Hickmott mould. Will put his body on the line for the team.

Gotta coupla cats like that. Apparently the female cat can get................oh, never mind.

Either way sounds like it ends in pussy poppin' fun....:D

Carlton are a young side and you just don't get that sort of football from young players. Young players don't, can't and shouldn't play that sort of football.

While you are right that this is weakness in the Carlton side I am confident that it is an area that will improve as players bodies mature.

How many players do we have who are built like those you names? not many yet.

imagine a injury free and full preason Richard Hadly would lose his marbles.... his as hard as they get
and for this reason i also want the Z MAN come novembeer pick no 6.

I think Hads will play 20+ games in 2009. If not, there really is nothing else we can do. He's had every surgery known to man.

If fit though, he would give a great deal of grunt to our midfield. Judd is better when given more outside ball than he is now.

We already have tough players, they just aren't ********s who go around hurting people for no reason. None of our players are scared of a contest, save Stevo who really bitches about his tags. Toughness doesn't mean getting suspended for 1 or 2 matches a season - agression should be shown to the ball only. Everything else is just theatrics.

Who'd want to stand this psycho?

You guys are delusional about Hadley - never been a great player, just an honest toiler and there is every chance we have been sold a lemon and even more chance that he will be remembered for the draft pick that got Brisbane Razzle Dazzle

Lethal seemed a tad miffed by it all but.

Used car salesman always tell you that you are robbing them blind on the deal :D

Ummm this is pick 52 we're talking about. ;)

Now now Five, not showing any bias because he is after AB's spot are we?;)

No, he has never been a "great" player, but he was a good player for us earlier in the season.
Either he or AB need to step up next year, and I think Hads has got AB covered in a number of areas. Disposal, pace (just), marking. AB probably a better tackler and both hard at the pill.

Will be a tough fight for spots next year.:thumbsu:

You can add versatility to that, too. Hads can play in other positions besides solely in the centre square - something I am yet to see from Bentick.

I think both have a spot on our list for 2009 at least. Having said that, if we could get a 2nd round pick from somewhere for Bentick, we'd be stupid not to seriously consider it.

Not sure if Bentick is the right currency, but I have little doubt we are trying to get that second round pick.
Houlihan?

We won't trade Houlihan. He's more important to us than any pick we are likely to get in return.

Guys like Fisher, Bentick and possibly even Thornton (even though I personally wouldn't) would all probably be on the table.

I think you may be surprised at interest in Bentick. He's not a bad player by any stretch of the imagination, and I think that a team like Sydney may be interested in him.

Important is to get players that can withstand physical pressure when the game is at it's hottest. Dishing it out too is a bonus.
