because we are not consitant enough. We can play well for 2-4 weeks like we are top 4 Chance then play 2-3 chance, Then play 2-3 week like a bottom 4 Team.

top 4 isn't everything. beating geelong twice would be too tough, imo, and we can make the grand final from the bottom half of the 8 easier than usual without interstaters filling up the top 4 spots. if we stuff up, at lease we get a better shot at the draft.

Sydney still has to play: Geelong, Bulldogs, Adelaide,Brisbane + us.

Even though they are ahead of us, they will more likely lose more games than we will. Carlton might even beat them on Sunday.

We screwed up tonight, but we will overtake them by round 22.

We will finish top 4 on the basis of Sydney having a much harder run than us.

Our toughest game is Hawthorn.

Who knows if we'll make it or not. But nobody can dispute the fact that we have a history of throwing away golden opportunities to consolidate higher positions on the ladder by losing to teams that we are expected to beat.

I don't know what the stats say, but we don't seem to be able to maintain the pressure game for more than a few weeks in a row without putting in a shocker. Sydney, Adelaide than a flat performance. Geelong, West Coast, Melbourne the a flat one. I suppose we have to hope that we make the finals and we can time our run to come into them reasonably fresh.

Well, the top 3 is set in stone pretty much so it just makes it harder for us to get a place in the top 4.
I'm just glad we're in the top 8 & I don't think we'll be falling out of that. Would be a lot worse if we were on the verge of the top 8.

Oh, & if we do make the top 4, I will be bringing up this thread so we can see how over reactive some people can be....
