I know enough.

What do you need to know?

You can add borders and appear as various animals etc during a video call, but I don't know how to do it. For example, you can appear as a dog to your contact and it seems there is built in facial recognition software, as the dog will follow the movements of the person who has chosen to be displayed as the dog.
Not as important as solving my lag issues, just some cutesy shit I want to know how to do. If you can help, it would be appreciated.

You need the appropriate programs for such actions. If you own a Logitech webcam then it should have came with the software (The actual webcam software contains the program).

If you don't have a Logitech webcam then it's best to look abroad and venture out. There is a program called WebcamMax which is tailor made for your queries. To find more similar programs, search webcam effects software via google or any other search engine.

If you already have/downloaded these programs, go to video and audio setting and just change your webcam to WebcamMax or whatever the name of the program happens to be.

Ah, thanks Double07, I didn't think about that because I just borrowed the webcam. It's a logitech 'quickcam easy cool' or something like that. I'm sure it came with the software you speak of.
Now I just need to figure out a way to explain internet problems to this girl.

I'm in the market for a new one, sadly only about 3 months after buying one.

The webcam I have is Logitech C120 and it worked well at first, then the software suggested an update and it's been ****ed ever since. Even after uninstalling and re-installing again with the old software, it's just not the same.

It seems to have problems detecting the light in the room and will sometimes flicker from bright/medium/dark over and over, this happens even when there's plenty of light in the room.

I sent my fiancee a C210 so we could each other when apart and hers is fine, so I guess I went too cheap with mine. I'd prefer to get my next webcam from a store that will allow me to get a refund if it's not acceptable and if anyone knows of a few quality webcam options I'd really appreciate it.
