Is touring Australia in March next year.

14 March 2007, WIN Entertainment Centre WOLLONGONG
17 March 2007, Burswood Theatre PERTH

Tix for these shows available thru Ticketek.

23 March 2007, Hamer Hall (Concert Hall, Vic Arts Centre) MELBOURNE

Tix for this show available thru Ticketmaster.

Melbourne tickets cost $79.90 each. Pretty sure it would be the same price for the rest of the country.

Apologies if this has been posted before.

I have my tickets and I can't wait. Saw him in 2003 and he rocked the house!
I'm sitting in the third row for the Melbourne show. Hopefully they will be selling the White & Nerdy hoodies at the show because it'll be much easier than ordering one online.

Definitely worth it for Weird Al. I've seen him before and he puts on an amazing performance. It's also the second time he has ever toured Australia (in fact, it's only his second tour out of North America!)

I went tonight and it was so awesome. It was getting to the end and when he played Fat and went off stage I'm thinking, 'what else could he play for an encore?' He'd played all of the classics so if he was to do an encore it would need to be something mind blowing. Then he come out with ALBURQUERQUE! I couldn't believe my ears when they played the first few bars. I know that Nofx play The Decline sometimes, but I had no idea Alburquerque was on Weird Al's set list so it wasn't something I was even considering.

Unbelievable. :D

Now I'm pissed, it wasn't on his set list last time :(

He seems like a really nice guy on spicks and specks and when interviewd on jjj.

His set list (not in order) was:

White & Nerdy
Canadian Idiot
I'll Sue Ya
Polkarama
Close But No Cigar
You're Pitiful (wearing an Atlantic Records Sucks shirt at one stage)
Couch Potato
Wanna B Ur Lovr
Bob
The Saga Begins
It's All About The Pentiums
Albuquerque
Amish Paradise
Smells Like Nirvana
Fat
Yoda
Eat It

Plus he also played a long medley that included parts of the songs:
Confessions Part III
Do I Creep You Out?
Trapped In The Drive-Thru
A Complicated Song
Ode To A Superhero
Ebay
Pretty Fly For A Rabbi
Gump
Bedrock Anthem
Updated version of Headline News about Britney Spears
I'm In Love With The Skipper (hadn't heard this one before)

I think that was it. Not sure if I missed anything, but I just looked through his discography and that was all that I recall.

His set list (not in order) was:

That looks about right for the Canberra show last night... but Canberra got one "bonus" song as well.

For reasons unknown, the A/V presentation froze up right near the end (during the 'interview' with Kevin Federline... perhaps the computers had taste?) - and we could see in the small view we had of backstage that the staff were getting frantic trying to work out what was happening. It was the band that made the save: the drummer came out and reprised his earlier drum solo to much applause, before the bass player came out and played a one note solo - with his teeth - and the keyboardist followed up with a very grandiose entrance and a rousing rendition of 'Chopsticks'...which segued into the intro for 'Fat'! So the A/V glitch had happened just as Al was backstage trying to get into his most inescapable costume! Fortunately the crowd was totally in the mood by this point and was just happy to watch the mayhem :)

When he came out for the encore, he said that to make up for the glitch they were going to give us one extra song, and at that point they jumped into a full-on version of 'We All Have Cell Phones, So Come On Let's Get Real' (the song he "planned" with Michael Stipe in the earlier A/V). This led to everyone in the crowd whipping out their mobiles and swaying them in time to the music. It was a wondefully silly moment.

Haha, we got that in Melborune too. I'd forgotten about it coz I was so wrapped up in the excitement of Albuquerque. There was a one hour delay before the gig started in Melbourne because they couldn't get any of the screens to work. They fixed two of them but the middle one never got fixed. After a couple of songs Weird Al apologised for the delay and said that the equipment got ruined in transit from the Newcastle show to the Melbourne show or something and that it might break down completely half way through the Melbourne show. Looks like it conked out on the very last video it was needed for of the whole tour!

Both times I've seen Weird Al I've been impressed, but this completely blew me away. He played for just on 2 1/2 hours and for those who have even had a passing interest in Weird Al over the years can appreciate how comprehensive his set list was. Even for us Weird Al freaks there wasn't too much he missed (considering he's got nearly a quarter of a centuries material!)

Really. I haven't heard it for a while, but I thought it was ok. Better check that on youtube.
it was a good prarody i thought

Smells Like Nirvana isn't his best but it's quite funny.

Eat It, White and Nerdy, I Think I'm A Clone Now would have to be his best.

I still don't find it funny. It is really tasteless to immitate other people's music imo. This Weird Al seems creative enough to make some proper music, maybe he should try his hand at that.
He's made many original songs. Like Why Does This Always Happen To Me, Genius In France, Don't Download This Song and many more. He's an all round genius.

He's even made a movie, which wasn't very successful but I found it rather funny.

Generally every second song on his albums are originals. Most of his parodies and most of his originals are works of a certified genius.
