Just wanted to try get on a positive note after watching that dismall performance on the weekend and welcome back the Hitman Heater Hocking. His mongrel will be welcomed back with open arms.

Hopefully Lonergan, Pears and even Stanton get up this weekend in this potentially season ending game.

So, no matter what the result next week, we will still be in the 8 and next week is a potentially season ending game????? Come on mate, you said you want things to get positive, cut out the maladramatic rubbish.

Um, don't know if you have been watching our last 3 games but we have been playing pretty poorly.

Losing to Richmond was pretty bad but losing to terrible Melbourne was worse. Fremantle were out of form and injury depleated if we can't beat north this week what do you think Geelong and Hawthorn are going to do to us if our form doesn't improve.
North(50/50)
Geelong (in form)
Hawthorn(in form)
Richmond (50/50)
Adelaide away (our poor interstare record)
Carlton(in form)
Collingwood(Need I say)
Sydney(50/50)
Dogs(win)
West Coast away(in form)
Port(win)

That looks like 2 wins and 2 50/50's. Unfortunately realistic.
I'll still be there supporting us every week though.

Yeah, we have been playing poorly, no one is arguing that, all I am saying is, your season can't be over if you are sitting in the 8. The reality is, that Geel, Coll, Haw and Carl are locked in, the rest aren't that good, and are all inconsistent, which includes us. If we are talking about winning the flag, our season was over before Round 1, if we are talking about finishing in the top 4, our season is over, if we are talking about finishing in the top 8, our season won't be over until at least 5 games to go, as you will only need to win 10 - 11 games and we have already won 5.5.

Needs to atone big time for his idiotic behaviour. Hoping for a blinder from him.

And yeah, this is a must-win. If we lose, we stay in the 8 for a week, but then we'll slip rapidly, since we've got a gamut of unwinnables.

He'll be hurting that he wasn't out there while the boys put in some dire efforts.

Expecting a huge game from him.

This. His stupidity significantly contributed to our past three losses.

Should be a roast thread imo, love the guy as a player, but his stupidity has hurt us immensely over the last few weeks. Better play the game of his life this week.

Oh come on. The way I see it Heater defended himself with his elbow. "It was one of the most blatant headbutts you'll ever see." :)

This is such BULLSHIT!

Seriously.

NO GAME IS UNWINNABLE!

How much football have you watched ffs?

As for the OP, damn straight except for the last 6 words.

I rather ignorantly got called a blinded and one-eyed supporter after I backed the team to win two out of the next three, and make the finals (bold calls which i'm not entirely expecting, but i think are possible) - obviously not based on current form, but from the glimpses of the form we've shown and the massive ins - with rational reasons for such a call.

They better ****ing win. Keeping the faith in the list, and the coaches.

It's a figure of speech.

Calm down.

I want nothing more than upset victories against Hawthorn, Geelong, Carlton, Collingwood, and West Coast at Subi. But on current form you would be absolutely foolhardy to tip us.

That's what I mean. Not that Essendon literally cannot win those games. I flatter myself that I've got at least a vague idea of how sport works, cheers.

Well if you did you'd know that we've got a habit of winning games we're not expected to and losing games we are.. see Hawthorn, Carlton & St Kilda over the last few years.

I've seen this club do amazing things in the 30 odd years I've been a supporter and I am so sick of seeing this pessimistic rubbish.

Keep the ****ing faith.

We are Essendon.

so seeing as 'he owes us' should he play back through the twos?! Prismall dominated on the weekend and with a game in Jobes legs would it hurt us too much to play him at Bendigo?!

I know you can't compare ANYONE to heaths aggression around the packs... just a thought

Still lost to Freo, though.

You do make a persuasive argument, though.

Tipping us over the Cats. Docklands is a fortress.

Massive in, I think when Watson came back last week everyone thought "Sweet, Jobe's back, we'll dominate the clearances again" and possibly didn't take into account that Lonergan and Hocking weren't out there (not to mention the fact that Jobe was coming off 3-4 weeks out).

Heath is probably my favourite bomber, and that's saying something. His aggression is incomparable to anyone else on our team. I have no doubt that Watson/Hocking/Lonergan combination was a huge factor in our early season form, and with Howlett now in some sparkling form of his own at the moment, there is reason for optimism:thumbsu:
