Plugs a possible hole I guess should Naitanui or Lycett (not exactly the injury prone players on the list) go down.

Would not have done any worse than Sinclair did in the GF....just sayin...

Hopefully Cox can work his magic but, if he plays an extended period next year then we are in deep trouble.
I think we're only in deep trouble if Naitanui can't get on the park for a long period. We have enough ruck depth now to ensure adequate backup - if Giles proves himself adequate and Lycett continues to have injury/form concerns, all the power to us. If Giles is crap then I think McInnes could provide cover until Lycett is good to go.

I'm pretty sure he's the first to ever play in 4 different states during a career (Port in SA, GWS in NSW, Essendon in vic and now WCE in WA)

The very definition of 'journeyman'.

We rely on NN so much because he is the 3rd best clearance player in the team. In fact we only have 3 players in the top 100 for clearances.

When he is out it pretty much comes down to Shuey and Priddis to do all the grunt work. If Shuey is doing the grunt work that leaves Gaff to the main offensive option.

Hence why a quality clearance player and a quality outside offensive player entering the side is a big deal structure and team balance wise. Now Shuey doesn't need to do the grunt work as much and Gaff gets assistance on the outside.

5 pick downgrade in the 50s for a third string ruckman with plenty of AFL experience?

Where do I sign? Don't understand people rubbishing the move, if it doesn't work out we've lost almost nothing. Can't imagine Giles getting paid a lot either and it wasn't salary cap pressure anyway that forced/forces out Sinclair and Rosa.

Who's rubbishing the move?

I've literally only heard positive tings about this.
