Had a few good moments but I thought he also showed in a few contests why he still has a few things to work on in the VFL for a few more weeks
The gap between afl and vfl feels a lot bigger than it once was, playing in a strong team vs a poor team will hurt as well. That said geez I’d love to see him play soon.

Went to the game today. After last week, I followed him end to end, and kept a close eye on him. The effort was definitely there, but you could tell he was a work in progress as a forward. Although he didn't avoid physical contact, he seemed to be confused as to when to initiate it. Given his age, he also doesn't have the upper body strength often required to create space. His leading patterns were out of whack, but I think that extended to all of our talls, as there was no synergy between Jeka, Kosi and Max. They'd often compete against one another or get in each other's way. Physically he's definitely still growing into his body & the baby giraffe analogy is apparent. I'm stoked with his progress, but after today see him as the quintessential project player. Could be a fabulous find, but not sure if he's AFL ready yet. In the ruck, he seemed to be less influential than Meek, but I haven't seen the stats. Purely a punter's opinion.

I’ve never seen him play is he great below his knees and just like a big midfielder that’s a key forward with great hands and mark.

Someone posted sometimes Buddy like is this true or a bit of the mark?

Why didn’t you just ask this with your normal account?

He showed signs yesterday of what could really make him an outstanding player. Took a couple of marks over his head after leading up the wing, with his tank this could be a huge asset for us in the future.

Once Ramsden plays, he’s better off being the second ruck and playing the David Hale role splitting his time playing up forward and in the ruck when needed. We are better off targeting a young key forward in the draft that can play alongside Lewis.

He's better off playing as a key forward. He's got massive upside in that role.

Max Ramsden (2 goals, 12 hit-outs, 11 disposals)

“Rama had another solid game – he kicked 2.2 and hit the post in one of them. In previous weeks he has probably kicked four straight, so it wasn’t probably the input he has had previously, but his involvement in the game was still strong. He’s looking dangerous as a forward. We’ve seen some nice things from Rama, he’s just got to keep developing that area of his game and keep being consistent in his contest work and ruck craft. His weapon is his ability to cover the ground, so he’s just got to keep being consistent and find ways to make that shine in games.”

Six decades of domination
It hasn't hurt Melbourne holding back van Rooyen when many supporters thought he was ready to go last year. No need to rush him in yet

See merit in either option to be honest. Let him smash it at Box Hill all year in a winning team and go in to 2024 bigger and full of belief or fast track him in the seniors.
