yep, there are some reasons, but dont think there is 100% certainty of him being a midfielder, don't want to alarm anyone, and not saying he wont be a great 200 gamer for us because he could, but not sure he will be a midfielder

Can you elaborate blaisee on what's causing the doubts ??

I heard he was injured much of the time which also affected his fitness, thats why he played down back. I'm open to being corrected though.

No need for correction - he carried an injury into the champs, in fact he couldn't even play the full champs. Missed the first game (or two?) due to an ankle injury. As I understand it, this is the reason for him playing off HB. Possibly had some impact on his draft camp where endurance type testing weren't his strength, but an area requiring improvement before he goes full time into the midfield at AFL level, no doubt.

This kid is gonna make it big time. And the reason is because he simply will not let himself fail. He just will not let it happen.

You know Cotchin wills himself to get the ball, get the man at every single contest, expect the exact same from young Tigger.

A few posters are upset we overlooked Grundy and Menzel but a lot of the teams before us will rue the decision of not selecting Tigger.

Yeah cool. Vlastuin was my first choice way back mid season. Just really liked the sound of how he went about it. Whilst i was also very pro Grundy and dissapointed we didnt take him im not at all dissapointed with Vlastuin.

Love his spring and marking ability overhead for a midfielder and as stated his attack on the ball and body is crazy. Really looking forward to seing how he goes this year.

I DON"T think we should reinvent history. McMahon's second last season at the Dogs was a very good one .... he also played some good football prior to that, but lacked consistency.
It would also be fair to say that he played some good football in his first year with us.
Can agree he was soft and too light, and his style of play was quickly worked out by rival clubs, but he was decent enough early in his time at Tigerland.
But was he worth pick 19 .... no!
As rfctiger74 points out, our trading strategy was flawed.
He simply wasn't worth pick 19 and the pick 35 we ended up using on Morton was where we should have gone for McMahon.

I will be honest, some make think he played good footy but I never rated him tbh. The only bonus I saw with McMahon is I knew he didn't have the tools and ultimately it would help us get the likes of Martin etc.. because I couldn't see him help us push us into the finals

If you look at the link on the first page of this thread (the 'pick me' link) you can see the kid pronounce his name himself. Sounds like Flos-tone to me. Maybe you know someone with the same name and they pronounce it different (like the two different ways of saying 'Maric')?
