He's in Brownlow form based purely on numbers, but probably not being a goal kicking mid will hurt in the eyes of umps.

He is in AA form and could be a good brownlow chance.

Speaking to someone a few days ago who has met him & his wife socially a few times - says he is a decent & grounded guy who will fit in no problem.

Pretty confident we will end up being pretty pleased with the pick up by the time he is done.

Macrae did not fit in the doggies midfield, had a good contract and we had a 1st choice inside mid role for the taking.

Kennedy has been a good for them and adds a bit more pace to their set up and Richards is already pretty seamlessly added into the starting line up. Sanders needs games pumped into him too.

Its a good trade for all.

Macca is a Bullgod, but our game plan has changed, and he deserved to have his wishes respected, for what he wanted to do. I am really pleased he chose to go to the Saints, especially as the Cats were after him too.

Yeah, he would have.

Geelong's midfield isn't exactly flush with players.

Tom Atkins had 13 CBA's on the weekend and Jack Bowes had 10.

Dangerfield is spending more and more time up forward.

Tanner Bruhn is out indefinitely and Cam Guthrie has chronic injuries.

I went to Macrae's (and Stringer's) first game against Adelaide exactly 12 years ago - a nasty rainy day, we got flogged and Jack kicked a goal in junk time.

Glad he's flourishing again, but hopefully he has a quiet night tonight

That said I'll always be a bit annoyed he didn't play his 250th for us.

Has come crashing back down to earth over the past fortnight. Averaged 32 disposals per game in the first 4, but only 18 over the last couple. Hopefully this is an aberration and he can get back to early season form. Would be very disappointing if that first month was a dead dog bounce.
