The start of a new era
AFL Club
Essendon
Welcome to our "Old Home Ground".

This forum is designed specifically for training reports, injury updates and next year there MIGHT be a stats section.

We will be receiving weekly training reports from ant555 2-3 per week most weeks.

Anyone else who is at training please feel free to add your views to the appropriate training report.

Please show the respect to our training reporters and don't ask them question after question.

Don't raise new threads asking for player or injury feedback as it will all be updated as regularly as possible so if there is no news on that player, then there is nothing other than business as normal to report.

Please keep all the information in this forum between ourselves and any info that is posted elsewhere, either on BF or any other site may result in you losing your access to this info.

I hope you all enjoy our "Old Home Ground" and Go Bombers

PS: Due to the way private boards are set up if you receive a Yellow or Red card you automatically lose your access to this forum until it runs out.

thats fine mate. don't forget that you're the one do us the favour so its not like we will be upset if you don't go to some training sessions.

is there anyway you could perhaps find out the results for the sprinting and agility tests???

I probably could but it would come from a source that is likely to not want me posting the results on a website. For this reason i havn't asked anyone about the testing they did on Monday morning.

The only training I went to this year was on Monday, 21 May.

I also had a long chat with Bachar after that session. Top bloke.

I'd better re-introduce myself. I've been supporting Essendon ever since I can remember - Darwin where I grew up is a bit of a Bombers town (Sheedy could tell you that - we sent a few local boys in those days to Essendon).

I decided to also support Brisbane Bears when they started (Brisbane was where I was born).

Last year, in BigFooty, users could nominate their club, and there was a spot for 'other teams'. Some here spent ages goading me to switch it around! ;)

Do I have a conflict with supporting, and being a member of two clubs? Not at all, Essendon is like my first-born son and Brisbane Lions my youngest child. I love both equally, but pay more attention to the youngest.

Hey!

Thanks for accepting me...

Looking forward to getting training updates, as well as the goss on players and the club...

And i do understand the confidentiality aspect... :Z

Cheers

Thank you for allowing me access to this site. I am an Essendon supporter but my first love has been rugby (grew up in NSW)

I have a rugby coaching background and in the last 15 years there has been a trend to develop competitive games (mini) to be used at training to develop decision making, and player skills under pressure. Given that we have firstly have a weakness at the ruck and the ability to win the hard under ball and to clear it to the runners and secondly the ability of the mid field to close their man down on the counter. I would be extremely interested in how Knights and his staff go about rectifying this. Do they develop these types of games and how are they structured?

Thanks for the reports they have helped with both my appreciation of Australian rules and secondly my own coaching ideas
