This is the first time all year I thought we deserved to be wooden spooners. Many passengers out there but more importantly they were poorly coached.

I've been thinking about the quality of football we've been seeing this year and I reckon there isn't a dud team in the competiton, Carlton included. Your team couldn't be equated with the wooden spooners of other years.

I reckon the skill level in the competition has risen exponentially this year. Carlton, Richmond or St Kilda are not dud teams, like we have had in recent years on the bottom.

I hold out hope that St Kilda's players may form the basis of a successful team in a couple of years time. Carlton will never be a real bunch of drongoes, even though it pains me to say it. You just picked a bad year to have an ordinary season.

For goodness sake don't accuse me of being patronising. This is easily the best year of competitive football I've ever seen. The salary cap and the draft have worked. It's your turn this year. It could well be Brisbane or Essendon next year. This is all good.

Yes, there may have been a lot of passengers but the bus will be dropping them off in Poop Creek very shortly !! And the busdriver will be left behind too !!

Now the only matches I want us to win this year are against Collingwood and against Essendon. Stuff the rest, I couldn't bear all my Collingwood friends talking about our first wooden spoon, whilst they kicked us a new A-hole. Wouldn't it be nice if we won against Essendon, with the result of Essendon missing the finals and Carlton lucky enough not to get the spoon? Yes, I'm allowed to dream too you know!

Normally I would enter into a whole explanation but at this time of morning I won't bother and the way you bolded the word 'specifically' tells me that you are challenging the notion as nobody else could possibly know anything about football.

Wouldn't have made a difference if GOD himself was coaching Carlton the other night. That was the worst team on paper to play a game of AFL footy for a long time. If it was against Brisbane or Port they would have lost by 150+ points

I disagree.
When a side gets thumped, why is it always the losing side thats "crap" or "the worst"
Why does the loser get talked about more? Give us a bit of credit, we played well. But it was a combination of both, you guys didnt play the best footy i've seen all year.

I still think this will be your only year at the bottom. I expect Wiggins, Livingstone and Campbell to come through and play alot of games between the 3 of them, with Sporn and Thornton in and out all year (without injury ofcourse)

The future doesnt look too bad, you just have to sit tight and wait for these young blokes to grow up a bit.

Last 10 minutes of the first half Brittain decided against playing a forward line and left Cloke, Clement and Wakelin on their own.
