Between 2009 - 2011 Clarkson only coached Hawthorn to 1 finals win ? Usually you don't win many finals unless you are one of the best 2 teams which we have not been over the past 3 years.

That exodus is quite a damn good reason for our recent finals record I would have thought. Again we're now on the wrong side of the bell curve, the clock has gone past midnight. We're doing bloody well to still be finishing as high as we have been.

CS has had his share of head scratchers.. no argument there - but that is 1/2 an amazing team to lose and still be relevant.

1. No he wasn't, he earned it and deserves all the praise for it.
2. No they couldn't.
3. Possibly. Not all of them by any means, but we're probably carrying too many now.
4. We'll never know. It remains a shall we say, curious, decision.
5. Last year I would have said that, but he did drop Murdoch to be fair.
6. That's not necessarily down to him. He can't be expected to answer for what Balme or Hocking say.
7. A kernel of truth to this. Every player's case is different. The next few weeks and months are going to be absolutely fascinating when (not if) our veterans decline further.

How, pray tell, is CS responsible for Motlop's action. CS is responsible for his suspension so if that's what you mean, then fair point taken.

ps Its one game. Lots of teams will get flogged by Hawthorn this year. Motlop had a couple of beers a few days before a game-seems a bit of an overreaction from lots of people to me. I am not bothered by him doing that. I understand that it is a professional game but footy can take itself a bit seriously sometimes. If he turns up drunk on game day and it impacts on his performance, then I might get a bit annoyed. Or maybe I won't!

Just on team selection if Simpson or Smedts play this week I will have lost all faith in the MC. I can handle Murdoch getting a game but Simpson and Smedts really?!?

I think Smedts will be ok... Do you remember how everyone use to bag Hawkins.. He took a while so Smedts might as well.. Some players adapt to AFL very quickly others take time...
In regards to our ruck in 2016 we should heavily go after Zac Smith as he could be a free agent..
