This is the really good thing to come out of the evening. Add Knights to that list until he got hurt. :thumbsu:

All of these lads showed that they're capable of playing at the very highest level under the greatest pressure, and if some of our veterans e.g. Burton, McLeod and Hentschel had played as well we wouldn't have lost. Edwards got a lot of it but his use of the ball was ordinary at times.

IMO the club has to, and probably will, have another look as to whether it allows all of its 5 players aged 30 or more to go on. or at least suggest they have another look at it as to whether they go on or not.

We have to make room for Walker, Davis and McKernan next year, which puts a question mark against Burton and Hentschel, with the greatest question mark on Burton IMO.

Shirley had a good first half against Didak, but lost him in the 2nd half. Sloane and Cook will be pressing for spots, so Shirley will be under pressure as well.

IMO Edwards should consider retirement as well while we remember him as a great player. He had a magnificent first two thirds of the year, but in the last few weeks he has lost a lot of mobility and flexibility and is starting to get caught a bit or making disposal clangers

Goodwin, McLeod and Hentschel would be my 3 to go on, but I'd be trying to get Edwards, Burton and Shirley into retirement before they end up embarrassing themselves.
Edwards has carried a back injury for the last 3rd of the season. Maybe thats affecting him more than we realise.

I do tend to agree that Shirley and Burton are a fairly good chance to go and Hentschel is a possibility.

I think McKernan will be played mainly in the ruck and given a bit of a run in the forward line. He has a massive leap and is mobile which is what Sellar is giving us at the moment.

Craig did say that there would be another 4 or 5 he would push into the side next year and no doubt there will be players that miss out. He mentioned McKerna, Davis and Sloane specifically.

Looking at our list, I am a little bit concerned with our rucks. Ivan is all heart but no leap and is a bit clumsy. Griffin is great height and has the biggest upside but is soft. Moran is a mixed bag. Sellar is a bit undersized but so is McKernan.

At least McKernan is genuinely athletic so there is still hope there that he can be a Jeff White type ruckman for us. Looking at our side, I think thats where we will give him the most opportunities to grab it with both hands.

Great effort by your boys tonight. Vince was superb, especially that last quater. Tippet, he's so good it can't be put into words

Absolute classic game, unfortunately got done in the last minute

You guys will be way up there next year. :thumbsu:
