Good win, Eagles!

I'm looking forward to next week :D

Yes facing Port away will definitely be another tough match up. Hopefully the players can psyche themselves up to the level they did today and turn in a good one.

While on the subject of today's win, does anyone else think that Woosha has targeted turning Subi back into a fortress? It seems we have played our best footy by far at home, and although we were admirable and a little unlucky against Collingwood in Melbourne it seems to me that Woosha is aiming at winning at home first and looking to build on that in successive seasons.

Thrawn, I think youve hit it on the head. Woosha knows ( just like all the intelligent footy fans) that for the Eagles to be good they cant loose home games. Back in the hey day era (the 90's) when the boys were the best in the AFL they would only drop one maybe two home games a year. So it makes good sense for him to try and pull out all stops to win at home!

Ill make the same comment i did when walking into Subi this afternoon "If we get within 4 goals ill be happy"

Im just hoping it'll have the same effect!! ;) :D

Thanks to all the sportsmanlike supporters out there who wished us well.

We are all so proud of our club tonight.

The atmosphere at the ground was terrific. Truly Woosha has instilled the pride and belief in the players and supporters.

(Brown was off for a fair time with an ankle injury. He ended up being stationed at FF after being marginally beaten by Jako earlier in the game).

Thank you!!!

Now I just hope other sides will not take us for granted as being the easybeats of the competition.

The one game I am looking forward to now is against Melbourne at Subiaco. I so much want revenge for our loss last week.

Damn Nephew of mine (Melb supporter) Has not stopped ringing me all week.....:)

Sensational game Weagles!!

Superb coaching, brilliantly executed by committed players. Some great youngsters mixed with a resurgence from quality older players. Watching Matera and Jakovich, I felt like a Geelong fan in September!!:D

That is the first time in 2 years that I have seen the Lions completely beaten for four quarters, and it was the pressure exerted that did it. It was very rare for a Lions player to get any time or space, and even though I look forward to meeting you guys again in Round 20......I look forward to it in September even more!:)

Well i am looking forward to the week after, when my team comes here to rumble in wk 7, carn the Roos! Martyn vs Wilson, now that's a match up to see!

I wrote this someplace else ... and it got buried a little bit. More appropriate here.

I was rationalising 'why' i tipped the Eagle to beat the Lions.

----------
I have seen quite a bit of the Eagles this season and thought that some people have severely underrated the capability of this side ... especially their midfield. Everyone has been talking about Brisbane's midfield ... but geez ... Gardiner, Cousins and Kerr have been nothing short of sensational.

I don't know why Gardiner only seems to be rated by WCE supporters. That kid is a gun!

Now this is rare??? Finally someone other than a WCE Supporter rating Gardiner. He is a champ and easily in my opinion in the top 5 ruckmen in the comp and probably close to the best ruckmen this season so far.
