I haven't felt this confident in a Bulldogs coach since 18 August 2011.

Thought in many respects Bev was out coached on Saturday night. I'll reserve judgement when I see how he handles the defensive set up after kick outs in future.

What we did well in the first we did well in the second
We had the ball in our half something like 70 percent of the game
When Cripps got off the leash just enough he sent Picken over to shut him up
We shut down the corridor in the second half through adjusting our defensive positioning
We shut down both LeCras and Kennedy via group defending who have previously ripped us a new one every time
We selected Talia. OMG we selected bloody Talia. Hallelujah.
Think he did ok frankly :)

When you win the inside 50 count 58 to 41, I don't think bevo was out coached

Was definitely an exciting game to watch and you could tell the players were enjoying the game style. I wouldn't get too excited yet though, we are still definitely in the honeymoon period. Lets not forget Essendon started 8-1 in Hirds first coaching year and still ended up missing the finals. Let's just hope the players don't get complacent and keep working throughout the year and the rewards will come.

Love this guy. No BS, knows what needs to be fixed and did it (to a degree) in the second half.

I'll back him to tighten us up through the middle this week and I reckon we will beat the tigers who will crumble under some serious pressure from our lads.

Go dogs.

Who did we have out ?
Libba, C Smith and someone I thought you might have agreed with: Hrovat. Not sure if all three would play at once but all are best 22 (or close to it) when fit and would have been better than Goodes and Honeychurch.
Crameri was clearly well short of a gallop too (but will be better for it). Roberts is also just coming back from injury but we could expect him to be putting up his hand in a few weeks, especially if Redpath doesn't succeed. And don't forget Hunter is serving out an in-club suspension but has dominated practice games at VFL level.
I think we still have a bit of improvement to come over the next 6-8 weeks.

IMO only WCE straight kicking for goal (or our errant kicking) kept them right in the game.

Shane Biggs too

Hrovat libba and smith Yep fair call all would play with the right mix , Roberts not sure where he stands to be honest not sure he will make it and hunter I don't think there is a spot for especially if the young kids step up , tries to do to many flashy things and he isn't good enough for most of them he needs to concentrate on getting the ball and kicking goals not trying to be like stringer

It's true, just wait for a loss. Maybe not the coach so much, but some players will feel the heat from "supporters". But Bevo has made a good start, seems to have the players following his coaching, and is very supportive of them. We would be silly to expect to win every game, unlike MM. The team is raw, playing in a new style, but they are trying as hard as they can. Just need games under their belts.

You're obviously not an "optimist". And by "optimist" I mean moron.

I'm just finding it refreshing to have a box that makes sensible looking adjustments on gameday. Think the box made a gameday contribution and win/lose or draw I want to see that on the day.

I really like what the Drink brings to the table. This is a developmental year after the wasted years under " Crack in Mac". If we match 7 wins of last year we will do well. But there is so much talent there to get games into a loss does not mean the drink is Luke warm. He has said there will be some heart- ache in planning for the future.

From 2016 we will start our unstoppable march to the holy grail.
