Cheers, i was impressed by the way the Swans played. It was definately a danger game for us and i think playing Melbourne down there on the back of 3 defeats in a row was always going to be tough. The thing that pleased me the most is the fact that we won the midfield battle against the calibre of talent Melbourne has in that department. Best of luck to Melbourne against Freo at Subi (I think they have next?) and for the Swans, bring on the Eagles.

I was quite surprised by this win. If we win our next game, ill be bloody confident about our chances for this season. Melbourne will recover against freo i reckon.

yeah I actually thought our chances were low during that last quater when melbourne left us with only a 20 pt margin. If we win next week we can be guarunteed of the premiership this year I hope. anway when was the last time the swans actually won a premiership??? most of the other teams have won at least once in the past 30 years I think

Hardly. We're some chance to match the West Coast next week because the game is at the SCG, which is as different in dimensions from Subi as it comes and the Toasters haven't seemed to enjoy playing over here in recent years.
However, it will take a disciplined, full-contribution game if we're to win - ala the SCG Saints game last year.
But even if we do win this weekend, we are far from "guaranteed of the premiership". We'd probably have to play WC again at some point - almost certainly at Subiaco - and maybe Adelaide again at AAMI. We're having a great run with injuries at the moment and need luck for that to continue. We still have to face an increasingly desperate Lions in the H&A, who will be out to avenge our snatched victory at the Gabba earlier in the season.
We're putting ourselves in the mix at the moment, but no more than that.
