It's easy to get excited watching highlight reels, but the thing that strikes me about both these kids is their skills, decision making and composure. Whether that translates to the next level is another thing, but I reckon a season or two at Peel and we may have a couple of rippers.

While I have been an advocate for picking up Bootsma as a rookie, I think the club are looking way ahead of me as usual. Nyhaus looks like he could end up being the long, accurate kick that we are crying out for in the backline.
Dudley Nearly forget the pain of not getting McCarthy with this new group of player ;).

We've definitely focused more on picking up footballers in the last two years. Hopefully some of the guys that've been getting games based on their mature bodies and blocking and tackling skills the last few years will gradually be replaced.

In case nobody has made the point. There are a number of qualities that I really like in people who are e-sports pros.

Most people who succeed as professional computer game (E-sport) players are very dedicated. I know because I have friends in the industry. They typically train (yes you need to train) 7-9 hours a day 6 days a week. You have to really understand the state of the game, have lightning reflexes, very good decision making, an ability to handle surprises (most of the game is hidden from you so you don't know what will apear before you) without panic and you must be 100% committed to the team. Each player has a role in an overall strategy and you need to stick to you role or your team will get smashed (If you loose in 5 mins there is a lot of criticism but getting a win in that time can make your team from a sponsorship point of view). Given that a game will last anywhere between 5 mins to 4 hours you cannot afford to start slow, drop your concentration or make mistakes.

Whilst none of these skills are physical I can see how they would make fantastic attributes for players.

In the Fremantle players lounge... "Quick hide the Playstation, frggin Uebergang is coming"
either that or being the competitive beasts they are they will be lining up to try and take him out in whatever the game of the moment is.
I imagine he can wipe the floor with your normal keen gamer.

Quite a few guys with basketball in there background plus the likes of Apeness, Uberganger and Irish. That is a fair mixture.

FYI

League of legends, his game of choice is not competitively played on anything other than a PC with a keyboard and mouse. But I take your point that he is probably above averagely proficient at most games.
