Welsh can p*ss off as far as I am concerned. He hasn't really found any form at all in the past two games as far as I am concerned.
He is still resting on the limited laurels of his first 10 games in 2002.

Adelaide forward Scott Welsh has withdrawn from Saturday night's match against West Coast at Subiaco Oval.
He still has soreness in an upper leg - or 'quad tightness' as it was referred to after he left training early on Wednesday.
Welsh trained with the Crows at Adelaide Oval on Friday and appeared to get through satisfactorily, although he did not complete the session.
Originally, he was said to have been retained in a travelling squad of 23, which included Jacob Schuback, who had been named as an emergency.
But Welsh, who was supposed to have a fitness test in Perth on Saturday, was not on the flight and Schuback moved into the 22.
Adelaide coach Gary Ayres indicated on Friday that 277-game defender Nigel Smart remained a week-to-week proposition after having been omitted for the second time this season.
Smart, 34, was dropped after round four and Ayres said later he wanted to be certain Smart would stay in the side if he were recalled or it could signal the end of his 14-season career.
"Nigel came in late for Nathan (Bassett) last week, anyway," Ayres said on Friday.
Reminded of what he had said earlier this season, Ayres said: "Exactly what I said - it could be, mightn't be, may be, may not be. We obviously look at it every week - who's playing well, who's not playing well. It'll be no different after this weekend's round."
Of the other two unforced omissions - Schuback and Kris Massie - from the Crows' 22, Ayres said: "Schuy's young (20) and he's going to get opportunities, there's no doubt about that.
"And Kris has probably been just a bit down for the last two to three weeks. I always try to pick the team on form, as much as we can and, unfortunately, Kris hasn't just been there the last few weeks, but his first part of the year was very good."
Of Adelaide's naming all three ruckmen in its 22 - Matthew Clarke, Ben Hudson and Rhett Biglands - for the first time this season, Ayres said: "West Coast have been playing a fairly tall forward line with (Mark) Seaby, who's 200 centimetres, and (Dean) Cox, who's a bit bigger than that, and they've been basically changing out of full forward.
"It gives us an opportunity to have a look at Rhett, either in the ruck or down in defence. He goes back to the ground where he unfortunately got suspended (for four weeks, against Fremantle in round three). His form last week was very good for the Eagles (Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL).
"He's physically a big boy, obviously, and he's pretty quick so if we can play the three of them … but the weather's been pretty ordinary in Perth all the week."
Ayres suggested Martin Mattner or Graham Johncock would be assigned to mind Phil Matera, one of the Eagles' elusive forwards.
"I think the taller type does a fairly sound type on Matera," he said. "You saw that last week with Richard Cole playing on him, although I thought he fumbled a bit, which made the defender's job easider.
"We've got a couple of options - Johncock, Mattner, that type of player. One's a reasonable match-up for height. Mattner's got a taller advantage to him and he's pretty reasonable once the ball hits the ground.
"Little Matera likes to lead you up the ground then try to turn you around. If we can, we've got to try to make sure there's enough forward-line and midfield pressure so that when the ball's coming in, it's coming in long rather than on the lead. Once it hits the deck, you've got to be pretty keen to keep it off him or dispossess him."

I might be biased but throw in Reilly too. He played really well last time we went to Subi in Round 3. And last year in the Elim final he kicked a goal on the siren, so expect him to kick the winning goal on the siren tomorrow night!!!

I would play Reilly on Judd as a tagger to see if he can develop into a very good tagger. That way if Stenglein goes at the end of the year (which appears likely) we have a a replacement as a tagger. I would play Reilly as a tagger for the remainder of the year.

Hell no!! Hes not a tagger he's a wingman. We don't need another tagger and hes not the bloke for the job anyway. He may have done well on Akermanis earlier in the year but that isnt his game. He's more of an attacking player and I reckon he'd find it frustrating having to play more of a defensive role

I know I may be killed by Scottys_girl but, is he really worth the bother?

Yes yes. Marvelllous post young one!! He might be delisted at years end me thinks. He's not really worth keeping another year if injury continues. and i doubt another club will want him. He might have to stay back at Westies.

Not gonna happen. He is too good a player to delist. He just needs to work harder and get back into form.

But he's not a tagger. Surely they can TEACH him ti tag, but for gods sake dont actually play him there permanently. Its not where he lives!
he's right Raids. Will never happen. I'm just asking is he really worth it? Been struggling for a while now. Has never really recovered after having O.P.
He wont go at the end of the year. He held the "Mattner Gold Card" before Mattner ever knew it existed.

Oh and I personally believe Reils shouldnt be a tagger. He's get mor einjuries, and I think his main goal at the moment is to have 3 consistant afl games in a row with no injury and good form.
maybe once he has played in the midfield and has got his everlasting boost of confidense to play the opposition well, then a tagger option should be tested.

You didn't but you are suggesting not to play him as a tagger. Young midfielders learn their craft best by playing as taggers on gun players. He is not a tagger because we never tried him as one. Neither was Kane Johnson but he developed into a bloody good tagger who played on brownlow medallist Robert Harvey in 97 GF and did a very good job.Originally posted by RaDaR ReiLLy

The best way for Reilly to teach his craft as an AFL midfielder is to learn his trade as a tagger for the remainder of the year and next year. I can guarantee you that he will be better player for it. Stenglein was recruited as a FB but is one of the best taggers in the comp now. Kane Johnson was playing as a CHB before coming to crows. He started off as a tagger and developed into a gun midfielder. Why couldn't Reilly do the same?????? He is alredy a step in front of the 2 I mentioned because he has played as a midfielder before.
Play him as a tagger and let him learn. Eventually he will be a better player for it.
Kane Cornes started off as a tagger so did Josh Carr and both have been playing fantastic footy this year. Both were in line for AA before Carr got injured.
We got absolutely nothing to lose by playing Reilly as a tagger.
