just wondering if any of you saints fans actually thought that freo should have won the game? talking to some saints supporters i know they think freo should have won but i was just wondering what everyone on here thought? any comments?

I have listened to the last seconds of the match very carefully several times and still have not heard the siren go.

There is a claim to a missing eight seconds from the official time clock.

The umpires signalled the end of the match after the Baker point.

I know it's all contraversial, but I believe the result should be a draw.

Freo should have continued playing when they needed to, rather than resorting to appealing - it's not cricket, it's AFL.

problem for the AFL is the time keeper admitted to pressing the siren, thought the umpires signalled the end and looked down....and then pressed the siren again???

Decision on Wednesday
5:00:01 PM Mon 1 May, 2006
Sportal for afl.com.au

A meeting of the AFL commission on Wednesday afternoon will determine the outcome of Sunday's controversial drawn match between St Kilda and Fremantle at Aurora Stadium.

AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson said at a media conference on Monday afternoon that league investigations officer Allan Roberts had consulted timekeepers and other staff on Monday about the events at the match, in which the Saints snatched a late draw after the field umpires failed to hear the final siren.

Anderson said the AFL commission was empowered with determining the outcome of the match because it had final authority to deal with the rules of the game.

And the commission will be given until Wednesday in order for both the Saints and Dockers to be given enough time to properly present their cases to the AFL.

Whatever the decision from the AFL commission, the Saints will abide by it in good grace.

I very much doubt it. Freo were robbed and you know it.

What a joke of course Freo should have won.

I have followed the saints all my life and again see our biggest cahnce slipping away. We have no leadership and play selfish tardy football

I hate to say it but Thomas has to go.

I must say my estimation of Nick Riewoldt as a great young ambassador for the game has risen enormously, assuming the 2 second grab they played on the Ch9 news tonight was not taken out of context.

When asked, "Did you hear the siren go?" He replied, "Absolutely".
Then, "what do you think should happen?" His answer, "I'm not allowed to say."

I applaud him for his honesty. Whatever his opinion, at least he had the guts to say he "absolutely" heard the siren, rather than taking the easy way out and saying, "no comment".

He also knows that his comments don't mean jack sh|t in the grand scheme of things so admitting he heard the siren means nothing. Freo will not be awarded the 4 points, Andy D wont change the outcome (rightly or wrongly).

:thumbsu: Good on you champ, the only one that I have seen from St kilda admit to freo being robbed.

Are you and the saints going to accept it so gracefully now the shoe is on the other foot? Or did you make the statement hoping it wouldnt come to this. There is word that the saints want to take this further....this would be very unfortunate for football

incorrect

Freo weren't robbed. Any side that can't hold a 7 point lead with 40 seconds to go don't deserve to win.

You were robbed, not them. You played to the whistle, somthing they teach you in the under 9's, while they were waving their arms around.

The crap you have received in the press is totaly out of order. The only fault I have with the way your club acted is the smirk Thomas couldn't seem to wipe off his face.

No that is utter crap, freemantle were not robbed.... it cleary states in the rules that a game of AFL football is to be stopped once the umpires of the field signal by putting their hands up... although i believe that freemantly actually won the game...... what happen means that it is a draw though... this is why we have rules
