Game means nothing. We were down 1-2 on the bench for a while in the 3rd when they hit back and were missing Maxwell for over half the game. We should've covered our losses, that's not being debated. But one game means nothing. Geelong got smashed by Brisbane by what, 30-40? last year iirc.

We are not Geelong and 1 loss does mean fk all in isolation but when we lose and the same issues come up in said losses then there is more to it.

As much as we should have won, I don't think it's such a bad outcome. We're laboring at present & you add the fact that the MFC treat this as their GF, a draw is better than 0.

The negative though is Josh Fraser. You lost me today mate.

Agree Panther. I have been living in hope that Fraser will come good this year however I can't take this anymore.

I think we should drop him and bring in Dawes. If Maxwell is injured we may need Leigh Brown to play defense and then we can either Brown or Dawes to pinch hit in the ruck.

You have a look at their best 22 & it has topend talent that we don't have. I agree though, their bottom 5 is horrible.

That is irrelevant though. Their systems are reflective of the way the AFL is won these days, our approach to the game is stuck in 1994.

That was our bottom 5 today, which is significantly different to our best-22 bottom 5.

I'd say our bottom 5 is definitely stronger than the Saints', but it does fall away pretty quickly if we pick up a couple of injuries, particularly to midfielders. The concept of a "best 30" is clearly rubbish at this stage.

I've never had McCaffer in my best 22. Barham only got a game b/c of injury & Brown shouldn't be played ahead of Dawes.

The Saints topend talent is elite. Goddard, Riewoldt, Hayes & Montagna are top 30 AFL footballers. We don't have this talent.

Josh Fraser - I haven't hated a Collingwood footballer since S . Patterson. You are pushing me closer Josh.

Its only mid june. Things could be worse, we have limited injuries and we have a pretty good draw coming home.

Maybe, just maybe Melbourne's game style doesnt suit us. Thats 2 games this year we've struggled against them. Its not all doom and gloom just yet
