Lenny Clarke apparently played for West Adelaide last year and is coming to the Wimmera League in 09. Just wondering if you guys could tell us what sort of player he was and how you think he will go in country footy?
He was our number 1 Ruckman.Missed half a season with an shoulder injury. He is a really nice bloke Reckon he will dominate in the country

Oh well, hopefully the money goes back into the club an not an overpaid overrated former AFL hack's pocket.

Birss is a great pick up, just was not quick enough for the AFL, also never seemed to be able to find the right position at the Dogs or Saints, surprised he got cut by Saints when ever he played he looked OK, he dominated at Springvale last year, did some great tagging jobs at saints, but wouldnt expect to fill tht roll at wests, Caruso is also a great pick, Collins would know him from his time in the VFL, just to small for AFL clubs, would have expected for at least one club to rookie list after two medals, but it wasnt to be. Dont go near Nathan Carroll he is disease who will further destory your club with bad habits.

That's right I forgot Sturt had no fans when they were the competition easy beats winning 8 spoons in a row, going winless in a season and about to fold, yet now they go around posting (expletive) about other teams being the (expletive) ever.
Such dreadful records as Sturt had between 1989 and 1996 (though the demarcation is oh, so abrupt) or Hawthorn from 1925 to 1953, or St. Kilda for several periods, or on occasions various WAFL teams, is something those really into football must never forget no matter how unpleasant it is.

The deep-rooted causes of such bad on-field records are something that have to be learned very hard, and almost always have an off-field cause even if historians have a tendency to hide it. I actually enjoy reading about what goes on when clubs are really terrible on the field than I do with clubs that are successful or mediocre, and feel more can be learned from the former.
