3 Victorian umpires. U can tell they came over with a deliberate plan not to pay eagles free kicks.

Or afl wanted to ensure a giants win.
Yep there is that one campaigner with a try hard skin fade hair cut and crumpet head. Not sure who he is but he’s definitely one of those Victorian flog umpires that always seem to crucify us.

Huge improvement particularly from the midfield.

Great first half by Allen in his first game. Though Lycett was really competitive first half really good second efforts and tackling.

Gaff absolutely immense and Hutchings to not only have an impact but keep kelly so quiet was a massive game.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Nic Nat get a rest if we can afford it at some point. Get him cherry ripe for finals. Vary good intent at the ball, particularly for first afl game back.

Interestingly Gaff had 6 clearances at HT. So he didn't get a single one after HT.

Wonder why?

I don't like to talk about umpires, but would love to see the club ask some questions publicly to the administration over the interpretation of the following in this match:
  • holding the ball
  • holding the man in the tackle too long
As each of these were very readily paid at one of the ground, yet almost non-existent at the other end.
