I must pose this question to Spurs fans....Tim Duncan is doubled every time he gets the ball...and I mean every time. Which leaves the Spurs with many, many open looks at 3's. Jackson, Parker, Ginobili, Bowen, Ferry all seem to miss their shots. In game 2, despite the victory they shot 5-23 from deep for 21%.

That is ugly.

Now to the question. Is Greg Poppovich aware he has the all time leader in career 3PT% on the bench??? Time and time again I watched the Spurs put up bricks from long range and there was Kerr, cooling his heels on the bench?

Ok he could be a liability on defence but to not even try him? Not even put him in for a while to see what happens? He is being criminally underused and he is an awesome 3 point shooter. The Spurs were WIDE open....Kerr hardly ever misses with that much space. He wouldve hurt the Suns, yet Pop leaves him on the bench?

Kings breeze by the Jazz minus Webber. Damn their good.

It's been the story of of playoffs for the past few seasons.
Since Jaren Jacksons ridiculous streak in 99, our shooters have not come through in the playoffs. Ferry, Porter and Smith are great shooters but they choked last year. In terms of this season, Manu and Jackson are more equipped to slashing but both are fairly capable at hitting the 3, they just need to stay away from ill-advised shots.

Parker and Claxton are not great shooters and Parker has tried to elevate his shot, but sometimes he seems to misdirect his shot something chronic.

In terms of Kerr. He's made big shots in the past, he can make them again. If we were ever in the clutch situation to tie up a game with a 3, I'm sure his number would be called.

But you raise a good point jod. We were wide open. If we want to progress through the playoffs we must hit those shots. Last year we missed them. The year prior we missed them..
Well...Jaren Jackson did say he was itching to come back to basketball..

As a Spur Fan im getting quite used to seeing our shooters fail in the play-offs.We need tim to dominate and take the double team on and draw fouls then hit the free-throws.

Another option is to stick Bowen on marbury to slow him down.
It comes down that the spurs have to be Pro-active not Re-active.The spurs have to dictate terms and use their strengths (i.e the twin towers) against the suns

If we fail again there is always kidd,o'neal or someone to look forward too but im not giving up on them yet

As for Parker being Marbury's bitch that may be so,but give the guy some credit. He is 20/21 years old playing in his 2nd season. This year the spurs were supposed to be rebuilding .because of Parkers good play they managed to get the best record in the NBA.In 2-3 years this experience will have taught him more than any coach could and he will be dominating. He is never going to be a great defender but be more in the mold of timmy Hardaway.

Anyway hopefully the Admiral will be back next game and give us a blast from the past and dominate the suns.Must say it is good to see Penny back in the play-offs.

But it's not about whether or not you need a big three in a clutch situation. IMO the Spurs should just have Kerr out their all the time, or at least get 15 to 20 mins on the hardwood. When Kerr is out their the Suns will not be able to collapse on Duncan every single time because you know, almost guarantee Steve Kerr will hurt you from the outside.

If Kerr got 6 open looks and I mean wide open because some Spurs had time to read the newspaper before shooting, he would make at least 3, probably 4 given the time he has to set up. Kerr is an unbelieveable 3 point shooter, that is his trade, that is the only thing keeping him in the NBA, so why not use it?

Yet coach Pop continues to leave Parker or Claxton or Jackson, or Ginobili in the game when they continue to throw up bricks from deep.

And how about those Pups...showing some signs of life in Minny. They put a beat down on the Lakers just about as bad as the beating they took in Game 1.

If Hudson can do that all series, the Pups will win. KG is his usual monster self but he cant do it all by himself, he needs contributions like that from guys like Hudson, Wally, Rasho etc...

1-1 now heading to LA. Imaging if they get game 3, it could be series on! I doubt it though, LA should win both at home to have a commanding 3-1 lead coming back to Minny for game 5.

Yeah, glad the Wolves won game 2. Got a bit nervous when the Lakers got to about 12 points behind in the last quarter but then the Wolves pulled away.

Kenny, you think the Pups can get a game in LA?? I doubt it but if they could somehow come back to Minnesota with the series locked at 2-2, they may have enough confidence to win the series??

I hope so. At the moment, they are leading 48-41 near half time in game 3. Hope they can keep it up.

Garnett and Hudson are in good form. Fisher seems to have stepped up. He is 3-3 from beyond the arc :(

Wolves have just choked big time and now its gone to overtime :(

Hudson missed a shot at the buzzer to win it.

And KG has fouled out now aswell, 10 seconds into OT. Nesterovic has fouled out aswell.

No chance.

Hudson came out big yet again. He may be inconsistent at times and not a true PG but he can step up.

The refs did everything to give the game to LA. Many many people believe it was the worst officiated game in NBA history.

"Part of the reason the game went to overtime was questionable officiating. Bryant completed a controversial four-point play late in regulation after Wally Szczerbiak was whistled for a foul, although he did not appear to touch Bryant.

Szczerbiak also had his jersey grabbed by Lakers forward Rick Fox on the next play but was called for stepping out of bounds.

With Garnett on the bench, Los Angeles had a golden opportunity and took its last lead on two free throws by rookie Jannero Pargo with 47 seconds to go. Pargo went to the line after Szczerbiak was called for another foul, although he again did not appear to make contact. "

Sounds like the NBA want LA to go further into the playoffs. Great to see the Pups show some bite and get over the top!! Game 4 will be a doosy! The Pups get smashed in Game 1 and look gone, they then return the favour in Game 2, and eek out an OT victory in Game 3. Could they possible take Game 4 and head home with a 3-1 series lead!

Let's hope so.

Oh well so much for Parker being Marbury's "Bitch"

Game 3 @ Suns

Parker (12-21) 29 Points,3 RBs,3 Assists,3 steals
Marbury(12-26) 25 Points,1 RBs,7 Assists,2 steals

Spurs win easily 99-86

Spurs back incontrol of series, playing good team basketball.
All they need to do is win 2 more and let T-Wolves and Lakers beat **** out of each other
:D

Once again, we showed how pathetic we are rebounding. That really gave SA the edge, with a 51-35 rebound count. Parker got away from Steph, but he still picked up 25 points himself. Keeping Amare to just 2 rebounds helped.

If we are to have any chance in this series, we need more output from Johnson and Penny, and hit the glass more. Containing Duncan's scoring is one thing, but he will hurt a team in so many ways.

TRES BIEN!!!!

Tony Friggen' Parker!

Welcome back buddy. He is vital to our success and that game today will boost his confidence to no end.

Stephen Jackson. Stepped up once again. Keep it up.

Timmy D. 20 odd rebounds. Priceless!

Malik and Manu off the bench provided alot of intensity as usual and even Steve Smith got on court so we must be going along okay.

2-1 in the series and things are looking up.

Go Spurs Go.

once again shows why tim is the best player in the NBA,he can kill you so many ways.after the game he stated to reporters that he knew he was going to get double and triple-teamed so he concentrated on cleaning the boards to allow quick transition to his guards.

Does anyone know what happened to Tom Googliatta?he is still listed on the suns list on their web site.I know he kept collasping a year or so ago but havent heard anything since. He could of been quite handy in this series.

Speaking of which the NBA is Anal about cases like this. There is supposed to be a clause for salary cap help for long time injuries.but I remeber when Bobby Phills DIED they wouldnt give charlotte salary cap help.Go figure?????
