No, he did touch the court that's why Poppovich and his assistants ran over to him and told him to go back to the bench. I agree it would be ridiculous to suspend him, but you have to have consistancy.
They won't suspend him though, Stern just enjoyed ****ing with the Knicks.

The playoffs have been ruined by injuries so far. I hope both the Nets and Spurs can go at it with full squads. It would be a hollow victory to a certain extent otherwise. I`d want to beat the best with no excuses.

TONY FREAKIN' PARKER!

The Kid set us on fire, especially in the 3rd quarter and he is finding his shooting touch, while also slashing into the paint with more confidence with Dirk and Bradley out. Terrific game.

Stephen Jackson decided to show up in the 3rd quarter, and his little run helped us get on top.

Maun Ginobili - I swear I told you all that he was a gun. He compliments Tim Duncan so well.

3-1 up in the series and heading back to the SBC? Very good situation for the Spurs, but we are playing a quality team. Any team with Nick and Nash can not be dismissed until the very end, because as we saw with today's game, those two guys can carry the Mavs.

I have to pay some respect to my man, Stevie Kerr. Hitting two clutch FT's; great move Pop. As jod23 said about a month ago - Steve Kerr is clutch from the FT line.

I'm a happy camper. I felt very confident about this game and we came through in impressive circumstances, plainly because we didn't lose a lead in the 4th like we previously have.

The maturation of Jackson, Manu and especially Parker in this series is great to see.

Showbag, maybe you could answer this one. I am a pretty big fan of Adrian Griffen, but he seems to be down in the pecking order behind Walt and Raja Bell in the post season. Has his form warranted so much bench time?

I loved the Mavericks fight. Outside of LaFrentz, the Mavs didnt have a guy over 6'8 and they only had 8 guys dressed for the game yet they push the Spurs all the way. Mavs have really proven something in this year's postseason. Perhaps they are still another year away but IMO they are certainly starting to lose that "soft" tag they have been billed with for so long.

3-1 down though and the Spurs should wrap it up and set up a mouth watering matchup with the Nets. The Nets, last year werent ready....this year, they most definitely are. Both teams are healthy, both teams are firing...should make for a grand series.

Congratulations on the Spurs effort so far. You have us on toast and will more than likely deliver a killer blow tomorrow our time. I will certainly be supporting you guys v. the Nets. That won't be much of a series, I would expect you to sweep.

Tony Parker and Manu are setting the Spurs alight. I expected big things from Duncan, but these two really suprise. If I were the Spurs I wouldn't bother messing too much with their guard rotation over the off season.

Griffin is severely hampered by a back injury and his court time is limited by this. It is a shame, he can actually play some defense and his offense is as good as Walt, but much better than Raja Bell. With Dirk out, I certainly expected Griffin to get time on Sunday, but they went with Walt.

After perusing espn, foxsports, cnnsi and other sports sits it has amazed me how many "experts" are jumping on the Net's Bandwagon now since they have swept their way into the Finals.Good on the Nets but I think they hare going to get a rude awakening.I thought I might try enlighten this issue a bit.

Look at who they have played to get there

Milwawkee 4-2 who have no interior defence whatsoever. The only decent big man they have is Tim Thomas(and he plays a outside game).Mason did nothing, the only player who showed slight resistance was Kukoc.

Boston 4-0 again a team with absolutley no interior defence.Antoine Walker thinks he is a shooting guard and the Nets rolled over them.Except for Paul Pierce this is a very average basketball team, and it shows how diluted the East is that they managed to get this far.(shows how much the Pacers cracked up as well I guess)

Detroit 4-0.This team has obviously a better interior defence with Ben Wallace, but no interior offence.Chauncy Billups got injured at the wrong time which took a lot of their already limited scoring. The Nets did a great Job of shutting down the rest of their outside players and then swept them with ease.

Do we get a trend here???

Kenyon Martin who "apparantly" has blossomed into a star this playoffs is about to go against for the first time in nearly 2 months a player who plays great defence but is also the most unstoppable player in the post in the NBA.I like K-Mart but he is going to get taken to school next week by Tim Duncan.

The Spurs have got this far the hard way, beating the Suns(who I rate higher than the Nets, give me Marion over K-Mart any day) in a tough series where Marbury to his Credit through everything at the Spurs.

Then beat the 3 times NBA champions Lakers in another tough series. To finish off with they look like finishing off the Energetic Mavs who havent given up the whole play-offs.

So looking towards the Finals(abeit a bit early),the only player who will be capable of hurting the Spurs is Kidd,But after facing Marbury,Penny.Kobe,Nash,Van Exel and others I cant see Kidd giving the Spurs that many headaches,he isnt as much a scoring threat as the others listed and he wont get nearly as much rebounds as usual. The Spurs will be able to close down his passing lanes far easier than any of the Eastern Conference opponents he has faced so far as well. After Kidd there is no-one worth double teaming.

Well any thoughts, does anyone out there tip the Nets? Please give me your rebuttal.I know I go for the Spurs but I have found it amazing how quickly people forget how diluted the east is of Talent.

I know the Spurs are in a good position, but I'm not thinking about finals just yet and neither is Malik Rose.

"The series isn't over," said San Antonio's Malik Rose. "It's heavily in our favor, but we've got to go home and take care of business."

If Dallas wins game 5, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalyspe shall ride.

"I don't really have pain," Nowitzki said. "It doesn't really hurt, but I can feel that something is not right with my knee. If I have that again tomorrow, I'm not going to play."

I think the opponents havent been overly tough. Detroit though are a very good side. The Bucks can be hot and cold much like the Mavs, if there shooters are on they can win but they could only turn it on twice, hence going down. Boston are a pretty good side, particularly with Pierce who IMO isnt overly far off T-Mac and Kobe. He is a great player but they lost that series because of K-Mart. He bitchslapped Walker.

The Pistons are a very good side, they have shooters in Billups and Hamilton, and they play amazing team defence. They are not that great as indivdual defenders but as a team they are very very good. For the Nets to sweep them certainly sends a message IMO.

I think you are over confident and you underestimate just how good Kenyon Martin has become. Duncan probably will defend K-Mart but Martin wont be defending Duncan all that much. Collins will probably get the job on Duncan and even Mutombo may see some action. As for Duncan trying to defend Martin, that should be interesting to see.

Duncan is a great one on one defender but Martin likes to isolate himself about 12 feet away from the bucket and then face up his opponent. No back to basket stuff with K-Mart...then he jab steps, crosses over, spins...whatever but he usually gets to the hole and scores. He is extremely athletic and quick so im not sure how Duncan will defend, not to say he cant but Im certainly going to be interested in that matchup. IMO you underestimate K-Marts abilities.

The Spurs did have a tough series against the Suns who I rate, Marion over K-Mart though?? I dont know about that. But since then it has IMO been an easy ride. The Lakers I havent rated all season, they started woefully, looked alright in getting into the playoffs and then fell to pieces when challenged by a good side. The Lakers all year, were just Shaq and Kobe, that's not good enough. Then their is the Nowitzkiless Mavericks...

Now your severly underating Jason Kidd. In case you didnt know, he is the best point guard in the league, and by some distance. Kidd this season has evolved into a scoring threat so if you think he wont hurt you on offence you are in for a rude awakening. Why wont he get as many rebounds as normal by the way...you just state that without a reason? You also give no reason as to why the Spurs will close down his passing lanes better than any of the Eastern Conference opponents.

And that is despite the fact he just cut up the best defensive team in the league which im sure could cut out the passing lanes more effectively than the Spurs. Also, Kidd is one of those rare players along the lines of Stockton, Magic and Thomas who see's things before anyone else does and then puts the ball right where it needs to be before the defence can react and his teammate even realises.

As for double teaming? That's why the Nets are so good, almost anyone can hurt you, Kidd, K-Mart, RJ, Collins, Harris, Kittles, Rogers and it's not because they are all great players but because Jason Kidd makes them better. He is a wonderful basketball player and a pleasure to watch....underestimating again I believe.

But after all that, Im not tipping the Nets to win :D But I just dont think they will be the pushover you seem to believe they will be. Im not particularly a fan of either sides, I enjoy watching both teams play though because of guys like K-Mart, Kidd, Duncan, Manu etc... Spurs probably in 5 or 6. But they will put up a hell of a fight.

I mostly agree with Jod. I think the Nets will blitz, whether they play the Spurs or Mavs. I can't see anyone stopping Kidd or Martin, and their supporting cast is very solid.

Also, well done to the Mavs. I definately underestimated them when I said they'd get rolled by the Kings, and their performance this afternoon without the big German, must fill them with a great deal of confidence. I just hope they don't throw it away in the next game like the Lakers did in the Semis.

Bit of a wake up call for the Spurs today. A pathetic 10 points in the last quarter and woeful three throw shooting gives anyone a chance. I expect them to bounce back and close the series though.

Memo to Pop. Run some plays for the guy wearing no. 50. It will help the others in the long run.

Someone wake me up when the nightmare is over.

THIS is exactly why I refuse to think about Spurs vs Nets. Dallas will not roll over and play dead. We have to go out to win the bloody game.

Possibly one of the worst Spurs performances ever. We've been bad, but that was plain heartless.

Note to coach Pop: Do not play a physically ill Stephen Jackson on Finley.

The first to win 4 games will win the series.

signed

Michael Finley

Finley was awesome, virtually keeping them in it for 3 quarters and when he had virtually nothing left, enter Nash and Van Exel in the last quarter. This Mavericks team has plenty of heart and although I dont think Nowitzki will return for game 6, it would have to be on the Spurs minds.

But to win without Nowitzki is huge, also without Bradley, again the Mavs went in small and undermanned. At least this time they had an extra player in Abdul Wahad who actually played alright.

But back to the heart....down by 18 or 19 I think it got to at one stage in an ELIMINATION game and with your best player watching from the sidelines in streetclothes, it would have been extremely easy to roll over and die. But Dallas never did and they just kept on coming.

Oh and Dallas shouldnt have the big 3 anymore, it should most definitely be the big 4.

They`ve definitely earnt some respect. Prolonging the agony though.;)
