one week ago...it was all doom & gloom...
this week has brought us so much more joy already...seems that people are no longer pissed off at lockyer for "that" kick-in (which is good coz lockyer has been good for us generally this year)...:p

it seems like we've found a solution to the Barham problem by getting him to handpass more...

we also found out that N.Brown's return to form last week was just a mirage... he still struggles without a specific role...

i think there's a role in the team for toovey as an "out&out" defender.. not expecting him to provide rebound from the backline BUT he is actually quick in closing down leads (i KNOW his decision-making can be very suspects...but hey.. don't need that if he's just there to spoil)

on a negative note..... still not completely sold on "corrie & wellingham" yet.. they're both very outside players so they'll obviously look good in a rout (but they certainly DID play well tonight)...
hopefully they'll perform equally well in a closely fought battle which would require more grunt..

p.s. I love presti

I thought Barham was good tonight and agree he looks better when forced to handball more. His kicking is woeful.

Nathan Brown wasn't absolutely horrible - certainly there were some worse players on the night - although that free on the wing was a bit moronic. I was disappointed he wasn't thrown forward earlier when Petrie was moved as spare man in defense. I think this could be a good role for him while opposition teams try and create loose players in defense. He can defend against players like Petrie and create real defense mis-matches against smaller players.

Not sure I agree about Toovey although he was better tonight - albeit in a game with very little pressure. This is where he struggles. Personally I think he is a sitting duck for Shaw when he comes back.

I'm not sold on Corrie or Wellingham either but geez its hard to fault them tonight. They were both fantastic and added alot of class - especially Wellingham.

Presti is the man - gotta love him :thumbsu:

I loved the game, at the end of the season will this game be seen as a pivotal point in the season? I really hope so, but I doubt it.
