Just got all Mass Effect achievements a couple of days ago. Power gamer is an absolute b***** took me 3 play throughs on insanity to reach level 60

That's one of the achievements I was worried about, I'm using a brand new character this time (male shepherd) used the female one on the last two play throughs and imported her into the other games.

I had roughly 10 achievements left when i decided to replay it. Depending on how many side quests you do, it will take 2-4 playthroughs to reach level 60. I found just doing the story missions and ignoring side quests boosts XP ALOT faster.

this is how i did it...

1st play through
tech achievements
complete game on hardcore
paragon
krogan and turian allies

2nd play through
complete game on insanity
power gamer
renegade
tali and liara ally achievements

3rd play through
Extreme power gamer

~50 hours of gameplay later I had all the achievements. Good luck. :thumbsu:

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition

Having good fun with this so far, I thought I had played the original but now I'm thinking it was probably IWD2. I spent a lot of hours on Bioware's RPGs a decade or so ago though to be honest I'm yet to actually finish one. Odds are I won't finish this one either but for $20, it'll be still be a bit of fun and easily worth the price.

Just picked up Unity, I'll be playing that non stop for the next week. I just realised I'm going to be so broke by the end of this month with all the games coming up.

Playing Valkyria Chronicles on the newly released PC version and I'm having fun. Same game I remember it on the PS3. Such a shame the series went down the shitter with it's sequels.
Blasphemy!

Having played from 3 back to 1, there are some basic gameplay mechanics #1 would have benefited from. Not allowing you to use freshly added units during a battle on the turn that they are chosen for the sake of 'strategy' is a pain in the arse.

I know it's not a game, but I've been reading this book called Console Wars. Basically covers Sega vs Nintendo (mostly from a Sega perspective) back in the 8 bit and 16 bit era. Interesting to see not much has changed with EA.

Essentially, EA would take their own game and tweak it enough so that customers didn't realize that John Madden Football and Joe Montana Football were actually the same game

Though to be fair it was at the suggestion of a few guys at Sega of America.

Been giving Aliens vs Predator Classic a bash, as well as finishing off Alien: Isolation and playing Prison Architect and Plague Inc. Plague Inc gets a bit stale really quick. Prison Architect will end up a game that is a lot of fun, but still quite buggy atm.

There is no single player aspect to this game. If you don't have anyone to play it with whose a similar level, don't bother.

The game looks absolutely gorgeous though. And the gameplay is quite good at times.
The limited shelf life is what ultimately kills it for me. Who knows if I'll be playing video games in a decade but I don't want a useless hunk of scrap sitting on my shelf that I can never use again.
