I see u still want a midfielder, is Eckermann or Meyer really worth the number 8 pick? I think it comes down to how u rate say Willets and those two with Meeson tossed in.
To be honest I have not seen either of those play except Monfries and Wood.

I wouldn't mind us getting a KPP but I would like one that is mobile and agile.Willits from some reports is not very agile. We have Rutten, Watts and Krueger who have a bit of a problem with their agility. If we are to go for a KPP, I hope we take this into account. While its not one of the most important aspects in a prospect, I think it would be too much to have all you KPP with average agility. We can't have every one of our KPP have a turning circle of queen mary.

From all the KPP, I would probably like to get Franklin or Roughead. Both are agile, mobile strong marking KPP and just as importanly good below their knees.

In all honesty, listening to a few radio interviews and hearing a couple of things around the traps, I don't think KPP will be on the agenda unless you are getting a bargain too good to refuse. I think midfielders and a ruckman are the way the club will go.

Ask for extra time :p

If that was to happen it would mean at least 3 of Franklin, Roughead, De Luca, Meesen and Willitts are left. Probably go with one of the Vic Country boys to avoid the go home syndrome (Roughead or Meesen). Probably Meesen on needs and lack of ruckmen down the order

Lets say both Wood AND Monfries are gone by pick 8. What plan of action would you take if you making the choice?
Thats a distinct possibility too - based upon the decision of the Bulldogs.

I would go for Eckermann - bottom age player with speed.
There is a dearth of quality midfielders - don't take one early you will end up with no quality midfield options by pick 24.

W'e'll use one of our second round picks on a KPP - why?, because there's an abundance of good ones in this draft. The second pick I would like Maric, but Iam doubting he will be around, so its going to be determined by the clubs attitude to getting another ruckman on the list?

Its been said often that this draft being so even, that clubs will shop more for need than best available.

Is there a complete draft list anywhere?
The real question is: has Rohan Bonson nominated for the draft?

Fabian Deluca because we really need another potential gun ruckman.

He'd also be gone by pick #8, surely?

The original question indicated that both Wood AND Monfries are gone by pick 8.

As everyone seems to agree that Brett Deledio, Richard Tambling, Ryan Griffen, Lance Franklin, Jarryd Roughead will be taken in the first five picks (not necessarily in that order) plus Wood & Monfries which makes 7 picks.

So getting Fabian Deluca (my preference) would be a good bet given the above.

Having said that dyertribe, if as you say, Fabian Deluca would be gone by pick #8 which of the following guys Brett Deledio, Richard Tambling, Ryan Griffen, Lance Franklin, Jarryd Roughead, Cameron Wood, & Angus Monfries did you have missing out on being in the top picks ?

So my pick would then be which ever guy of the above you think would miss out because they are all guns. :)

Pick #8 will grab us a top notch player make no mistake.

True :)

Hopefully there's a miracle and we get Griffen :p [/wishful thinking]
I originall thought tambling might fall somewhat - but Kevin Sheehan has talked him up too much IMO.

The player with some question marks may be Franklin.
If clubs opt to take a ruckman instead of a KPP, and particularly as there is a lot of KPP available, then Franklin may be the falling star.

If he did Franklin or Monfries or Eckermann?

Not sold on DeLuca. He has been inury-riddled and has done sweet ******** all. All this hype is based on his potantial rather than potential and runs on the board.

I think of all top 10 prospects DeLuca is the one thats most over-rated.

As I said, I don't think KPP will be on shopping agenda unless you get an absolute bargain. I think if Wood is there with pick 8, we will pick him up. If he is not then we would go for Monfries or Eckerman in that order.

Isn't he the one who was/is contemplating not nominating to avoid going interstate?

If you're looking for an agile KPP, I wouldn't be too surprised of Ruory Kirkby was still around in the second round.

Thats the rumour.

I wouldn't like us to use pick 8 on a sooky sooky la la, unproven big man. I would rather gor for a local ruckman with pick 8 (Wood) if he is still available.

Otherwise draft one later in the draft.

Makes me wonder what the percentages of those that want to move back to where they came are city boys as opposed to country boys.

A country boy would have to move to the city regardless of which state he is in so perhaps a ruckman like John Meesen (Vic Country) would be a better bet than a Fabian Deluca (Vic Metro).

This is all assuming if we can't nab Cameron Wood who would be my first preference. There's something in the drinking water out West Adelaide way that make their players stars (the exception being Ben Marsh of course). :D

So is it only city boys that are "sooky sooky la la" as Stiffy_18 puts it or is homesickness straight across the board (both city & country) ?

It certainly would make John Meesen (Vic Country) a much better target for us knowing he won't cry for his mummy. ;)

Anyone with any percentage breakdown on the city / country homesickness stats ?

I think history will show that country lads don't suffer from the homesickness factor as much as city boys. Just on our list, Schuback was stoked when he got drafted by Adelaide and has been saying for a while now that he wants to finish his career in Adelaide. Reilly on the other hand has never made such a statement and while he might be happy now, I think he will ask to be traded back to Melbourne if not next year, then when his next contract expires.

Are players allowed to do this ?

If so, then why don't we get Camereon Wood do the same.

I didn't think any player could do this but, hey, if one can do it then they all can. ;)

Lets hope Hawthorn are thinking the same as you ;)

We have always had star players at Westies, always, just can't keep them long enough to win flags :(

Interesting question: which SANFL team has produced the most Crows players?
There must be someone with HEAPS of time to do the calculations - Stiffy come on down mate.

You'd think it'd have to be Woodville-West Torrens.

Of course they probably haven't provided the most players that were any good.
