Just sitting here thinking about how bad things are for us and looking for a distraction. So i picked up my tablet and started looking through some of the old stuff under videos on the afl app.

Im watching the 2012 demolition of geelong in the qualifying final at the mcg i was there that night has to be the best atmosphere ive being in for a freo game in melbourne. Still can make me smile in the hard times.

What do you guys do to get through the bleakness of 2016 and to get away from those obnoxious opposition supporters

Honestly I just swing and swing on here at opposition clubs.

Does it make me feel better?

Not in the slightest!

Is there anything I can do to truly distract?

Can't drink because of medication so I guess I just have to sit and suffer this year

EDIT: I'm currently counting down until the Olympics and the WNBL Season so I can forget this travesty of a year

I just relive moments from the past of when we were good and try to just laugh off peoples idiotic comments and deflect ive had collingwood essendon richmond among others supporters try to give me the shits and i deflect it

Watching Peel and dreaming of the good days to come when some of these kids get better.

Apart from the guys already running around with Freo, I love watching (in no particular order):

  • Morabito
  • Tucker
  • Apeness
  • Uebergang
  • Nyhuis

Put the 2nd quarter of the 2013 preliminary final against Sydney on repeat. I'm pretty sure that's when our current side peaked.

Change how you watch the game this year.

Don't look for a big victory (the win and 4 points), but the little victories.

There is a lot to like in our team at the moment, the decision making week to week by the youngun's is improving leaps and bounds and we have a very sound future. The losses sting, but there are small victories in each game worth watching and as ridiculous as all this string of losses is, we've been out there to win (hamstrung by almost every single All Australian, Brownlow or other significant gong being injured) and it's not like the uncompetitive Melbourne/Carlton/St Kilda of previous years.

I think this is the least amount of footy ive watched this year, i even skipped going to one of the 4 games that freo have played in melbourne even though i have membership its just being a painful year

Easy answer. I just turn to my other passion, surfing. Still enjoying watching some of the youngsters develop. Have been really impressed with Weller,Blakely,Pearce,Langdon,Hughes, amongst others. With a high draft pick at the end of this year the future looks really good I reckon.

Yeah man. If that was the peak, I reckon Rd 22 2012 v North where we annihilated them in the last quarter with Pavlich a late out was probably the beginning.

Bruce - "De Boer's a good kick" lol :drunk:

I wish I'd said that.

this.

I have just given up on this year, watching individual players rather than the team now.

Mind you, I've been busy with other things in life, hardly watched any footy outside of Freo and the Friday night TV game.

My 10yo decided he wanted to play rugby this year, so have spent a lot more time watching Super Rugby on Fox trying to learn the damn intricacies of the sport... completely foreign sport to me!

Still watching all Freo games and loving the progress of the kids, but if the choice is a non-Freo game or Super Rugby, I'll flick to the latter this year.

Freo are shit. Everton were shit last season. East Freo are doing okay. The western force are still shit. Tranmere are still non-league. The premier league is over. Don't care about the euros. And I'll be in Thailand for when we play Brisbane so won't even be in the country when we win our second of two wins for the year

Plus someone mentioned on the radio that the afl wants to introduce a draft system where a teams average finish is looked at over a few seasons rather than the single season to determine draft picks so I've had it up to here with the afl screwing us over (basically if you bottom out, your position over the previous couple seasons will determine your draft order or something)
