Do you think in Nick Stevens Career he will ever be capable of winning a Brownlow ?
and also do you think he will ever get selected for the All-Australian team?

and if you believe he is capable of any of the 2 when ?

Doesn't seem to quite be damaging enough to win a brownlow. Doesn't seem to have the blistering pace and agility of guys like Judd and Ablett etc. (correct me if i'm wrong) even though his disposal is top notch.
I think that he could easily get an AA spot in the next 3 or so years.

That said , he is IMO is capable . Whether or not he ever does remains to be seen !

As long as you win enough it doesn't really matter. Cousins, Judd and Bartel all had other players stealing votes from them.

Go and review his last pre-season and the round 1 and 3 games.
Opponents in round 1 and 3 were Kane Johnson and Damien Peverill. The match prior to that he was BOG in the pre-season GF vs Lions, and prior to that BOG in the semi vs Roos........... Good luck with that.

Anyway, back to being serious.

I think the answers are no and no, simply because to do either you need (generally speaking) to play in winning teams.

It will be a couple of years before we are consistently winning games, and with Judd, Murphy and Gibbs around him it may be harder to stand out than 12 months ago.

Then add in the other talent on the rise around other teams and I just can't see it.

Murph went the wrong way last year.........umps hated it and didn't look after him.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. It amazes me how highly people rate Stevo on this board. I agree 100% with you. He's unaccountable, and frankly isn't good enough to be. You can only not worry about your opponent if your clearly more damaging than he, and unfortunately Stevo never seems to be.

Thats a big reason why i didn't want Stevo as captain. An unaccountable bloke, who lets his opponent cause serious damage, isn't captain material imo. How demoralising for the players to see their captain not marking up, and as a result his man hurting them. Doesn't exactly set a hardworking, solid defending mindset

AA: Yes, multiple times if uninterupted season (injury wise.)

Brownlow: No. Goes to the 23-25 year old midfielders. He hasn't got enough pace, despite his disposal ability.

I think Nick is more than capable of being in the running, the only realy problem being that generally, you have to win games to get Brownlow votes and by the time we start winning 15-16 a year, Nick may be past his prime.

Ryan Houlihan is our best fieldkicker.

And don't get me wrong, I think Stevens is a great player, but those who can't see that his man generally runs riot - often kicking a couple of goals to boot - aren't looking closely enough.
