What is the point of the "deliberate" rushed behind rule?

It was the free kick that was the worst part of it

3 mins later St kilda rushed a point in a identical manner and it was not given.

Watching the Geelong-Freo game, looks like it's now ok to rush a behind again.

Seriously, get rid of this farce of a rule. In the event that it is ever paid again, it is going to be ridiculously controversial.

It was simply done to stop the Joel Bowden situation ever happening again.

Just change the rule to say the ball cannot go through the behinds after a behind without being touched by the opposition.

It was a time wasting tactic. A simpler rule is to not restart the clock until somebody has touched the ball after the kickin.
