I think that the last 7 years of continual and accelerating decline after the Malthouse era would suggest that Mick was right to feel totally aggrieved by the actions of Eddie McGuire and Nathan Buckley. I know that we can always be wiser after the event. However why replace an experienced coach who in 12 years into not only 4 Grand Finals but also got them into finals for 8 years during that period including 6 consecutive final series between 2006 and 2011! Once again this club has made a classic mistake that has put this club at least a decade if not longer all because of individual egos! I hope that Mick is having a nice red tonight!

I would assume something like

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahsha!!!

I think the idea of having a succession plan was solid. Good forward thinking. But....
A coach has just won a premiership, he has then gone on to have one of the greatest home and away histories in memory. 20 wins with a percentage around the 180 mark and you dump him? Crazy.
Idea was sound but timing was awful.

Mick malthouse is as relevant a coach now as ron barrasi as a coach.

Malthouse like barassi and sheedy, great coaches for their time but we are approaching 2020 and mm is nearly 70
