.........does Mal Michael have to do to get any recognition?

Last year, he allegedly ran pretty close behind Hay for All-Aust FB. No problem - Hay had a huge season. Mal played maybe about 6-7 "bad" quarters for the whole year. This year, he has been sensational, yet again. As we all know, he always seems to get a timely punch, is cool under pressure, and very, very, rarely fumbles. He's been great for the Lions.

Why is it that every "possible" All-Australian team for this season has Dustin Fletcher instead of Mal? Call me biased, but is his name more prominent because of reputation, rather than performances this year? If Mal was playing like this and still at Collingwood, the hype would be unbearable!

I agree. His discipline in punching means that the ground level players know what to expect, and this helps the Scotts, Headland etc in rebounding quickly. He's also no fazed by the full back line and operates with confidence in that space. He is also injury free.

He's the first one pencilled in for selection and , what's more, he's thrilled to be playing back in Brisbane.

Fantastic effort - we need more tall backs to help him out.

You couldn't possibly have Fletcher as All-Australian this season.

I can't think of even one outstanding performance that he has put in this year.
