I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.

And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

There is 1 thing the Norf recruiters have failed to do in recent years is to bring wow factor to the club. That is supposedly not the Shinboner way and quite frankly that is why they will never be sustained as a power club in Melbourne.

Harley has the wow factor. He will in the next 5 ears bring more bums on seats at the Docklands. Norf desperately need that. Optus will be full once West Coast is back in finals so there is less of a need.

Don't stress, people over on the Norf board have convinced themselves that Reid has refused to leave Vic a long time ago.

Nothing will change their minds.
I'll be parked on the Norf board come draft night. Gonna be some people rioting and looting in their trailer parks.

I'm going to be there doing the, "Yiew! Yeah campaigners, we're taking Cur-tieeeen, and there nuttin you campaigners can do about it! What? We took Harley? How this happen? Youse guys must be stoked, huh? You get Curtin , and we get Reid. Celebrate?"

There are 5 in the running next year.

Smillie
O'Sullivan
Jagar
Moraes
Draper.

If we have pick 1 next year then splitting it to still have access to any of these and another makes sense. Although ,(talking myself out of it now) O'Sullivan I see as the clear fav for 1. He will be a match winner at AFL level.

Really, I can't split Jagga, Finn and Sid. Beauty is they've all got another year to develop and improve.

Smilie is a big watch as could be next level if he had a big year.

We have to wait see if all those guys are on the same level. If they are, I wonder if there's a quality KPF sitting at the back end of the top 10.

Not sure how many are metro mummies boys. I suspect we back our self into one of the top mids and do what we did with Shuey and Gaff .

I don't know why but I am not a Windsor fan. Perhaps because he plays a lot like Chesser. Great pace, great endurance, great skills, more outside but does not get a lot of it. we have one, we don't need 2.

Collard - I am not blinking to pull the trigger early with him. I personally expect he will be there with the Port R3 or our R4. If he is not, then we wait 2 years and do a rinse repeat like Brockman. Skills galore but he jury is out whether he will make it as a professional athlete and SportBet are likely offering 500:1 that he makes it with an interstate club.

I like Logan Morris but see him as a 3rd tall. Last height check - he was listed as 191 cm. That is roughly Jack but I think Maric is our Jack replacement.
Yeah, I'm happy to let Collard drift past 40. He's been reported as having issues being away from home and some attitude issues. We all know what happened with Sydney Stack. Jarrod Cameron was a way better prospect, but went pick 39 due to application issues. If a club wants to go early, so be it he'll be back within a year.

I'd be happy with Logan Morris late or Weatherill. Weatherill was so dominate early in the grand final, Sandy had to sacrifice Ollie Muphy on him to shut him down. He's 195cm as per CH league app, might've put on a few cms throughout the year. Kicked 37.22 for the season. Morris probably better player but Weatherill had 4 to 5cms on him.

I suspect Fremantle will take Collard. Currently have 22 and 41 but will also get something for Henry

Pick 22 likely blows out to high 20’s so they’d have to be a chance to take a punt on Collard as a long term replacement for Walters who has 2 years on his contract still

Bringing in Brockman this year, and with Malakai Champion next year I'm not that fussed. I'd really like him, but happy to hold on past 40.

Hopefully they look at the NGA rules for next year to give us a better chance at Malakai - is he a first round chance or a bit later than that?

I’m a pretty casual draft watcher, I’ll watch maybe Colts GF and a few other games, plus a few highlights, so my knowledge of the draft is limited.

So when I see some of the more knowledgeable guys state that Pick 1 for 2, 14 & 19 would actually be a Godfather offer I take note.

I think a good way for me to assess this is if I look back at the last 10 drafts.

With picks 14. & 19. (Not considering FS or NGA) I found 10-12 best 22 players IMO (more recent drafts a little more difficult to judge). So getting a 50/50 chance at a best 22 really doesn’t sound like much of a premium.

Now looking at pick 1 vs 2, I actually reckon it was split 50/50 who I would take with hindsight. Having said that when it was pick 1 it was usually my preference by some margin.

After such a shit year on field I really want something be excited about and I simply can’t get excited for trading picks.

BOND 007

I’m 100 percent certain that the opinions of supporters and members sway the club very little when it comes to everyone doing their job and making their assessments of this draft but I feel like I need to say it regardless.

If we trade away Harley Reid for pick 2 and a handful of scraps such as 14 and 19 which will be picks in the 20’s come draft night then I will just about lose all confidence in our club.

Take the kid who has been rated number 1 for two years now, that fills an area of need we desperately have holes in, with a skill set very few on our list possess.

Take the kid that everyone and their mother wants us to trade, whose fear mongering has reached levels I’ve never seen before. Both Harley with his recent comments AND the AFL with the extension of a 3 year base contract have given us clear pathways to draft now. The planets have aligned. How can we not take him?

We want this kid, the bulk of the supporter base want to see this excitement package run around in the number 9 and have faith the club and it’s culture can sway this kid to stay long term. If not well at least we backed ourselves in.

Take the quality over the quantity option please. This draft is a shit show. Don’t run the gauntlet of compromise with a few shitty first round picks.

Harley won’t be the answer to everything and it might be unfair to baggage him with this but he will provide ALOT of hope to a supporter base that’s sticking thick through the worst time in the clubs history.

I hope the team keep this in mind.

Would be very Freo to pick smalls in a draft stacked with talls.

What position is Champion at AFL level?
It's that position you played in your backyard by yourself as kid. Champion, passes to champion, sells a dummy, handballs to champion, takes a bounce, and another, launches for goal. Champ-e-yon! What a goal, the crowd go wild and Champion wins the permiership on the siren.

So full back, ruck, rover and full forward. No wonder he is called Champion.
