I see your Spargo to North and I raise you one Zac Fisher to West Coast.

Callum Ah Chee to Fremantle

They got a big cheque waiting I can see Brisbane not matching it.

Jed Walter to West coast.

Will Schofield's pushed it last week. Normally I'd take his comments with a grain of salt but his manager's comments were somewhat curious on Gettable today.

Would be that OAllen replacement and pick 2 should to do it for GC to potentially use in a trade for Curnow.

Big call given he was a Gold Coast local IIRC

Josh Kennedy vibes if this did happen.

Funny you mention JK.

Walter moved to GC with his family from Perth at age 8. But family were all Eagles supporters including Jed, who idolised JK.

Finding the game

Born in Western Australia in 2005, Walter grew up in a family of football lovers. His grandparents and mum Leanne were huge West Coast fans. He idolised Nic Naitanui and Josh Kennedy – the man he would later be compared to as a player.

*also don't think he would have been lost to footy if not for the academy.....

Any other time, I'd say this is crazy. The reason I think it's a chance is the fact that the Suns are in win now mode and either hope Walter becomes the guy next year or they chase Curnow now.

The Suns being interested in pick 2, Curnow being interested in the Suns, Walter being a Perth boy and Eagles fan... there are some interesting coincidences.

Pick 2 might just get them ahead of a few bids so it's probably more attractive to GCS than it would be to most teams.

WCE might even get some later 2026 pick swaps out of the deal as the Suns try and farm some extra 2025 points.

That's actually pretty interesting and adds a layer of intrigue.
I think there are obvious parallels to JK (who was a pick 4 IIRC). Walter plays 200+ games for the Eagles in any trade scenario, absolutely.

The only thing that doesn't add up is that all the WC fans have been telling us that their forward line is sorted without Allen and don't need anything.
