I think we should do anything to get Butters but there is very little info from the ITKs. Maybe in the next couple of weeks we hear more. Or maybe he is waiting to hear what the clubs plans for 2026 and 2027 (will they tank for picks and rebuild or keep trying with a slightly better list, etc.).

He is certainly the one player I see making a huge difference to us from Day 1.

If butters does leave, it will be to the bulldogs. The only reason hawthorn are even talked about is because they put their hat in the ring for every up for grabs player. See Smith, Allen, Esava etc.

Irrespective, NAS will cost more than that.

If the draft was normal it'd be about right, I think. But it's a crap draft and Saints rightfully will demand more.

It's a good deal for Hawthorn and St Kilda. Poor deal for Port as Butters is better than NAS and has proved it for longer as well.

I think you're wrong. Butters has never been as damaging as NAS is currently. Not to mention Butters' injury issues.

This might be mentioned already, but a 3 way trade for NAS, Butters, Carlton 2025r1 ( say 7).
Butters to Hawthorn for say 7, 25,Hawks 2026r1.
Port then trade 7, Hawks 2026r1, ports 2026r2 to St kilda for NAS.

That’s way unders for both players.
