What Would You Do?

I went to a coffee shop after watching the game at a pub last night. I had a piece of cake and coffee. Being a bit worse for wear from the pub, when I finished I totally forgot to pay and just walked out. I had walked about 100 metres down the street when I remembered. I hestitated whether to go back and pay or just keep walking. My conscience finally got the better of me and I went back and paid. Would you have done the same?

Every day of the week. I've worked enough with registers to know how much **** you get in if the till doesn't match up with the sales...I've seen people lose their jobs over tills that don't balance.

Good move for going back :thumbsu:

Pfft nah.

If the shop owners are dumb enough not to notice that you haven't paid then it's their fault.

Keep walking :thumbsu:

A coffee and a piece of cake, how old are, 60?

I was at some shop on wellington street in perth where they enter the price of everything in manually i.e. no barcodes entered. i added up how much my 3 items would come to, and got the right money out for it...and it was about 20 bucks cheaper than what I had out, I thought nothing of it till I was at my cousin's house looking at the receipt....the bloke had entered $2.00 instead of $20.00, now I didnt go back the next day, but I dont know whether in that situation it is right to go back anyway. I mean, its not like I walked off without paying, i paid, and he just undercharged me. Is that the right thing to do?

And for the record, I probably would have gone back to the coffee shop..

My respect for common decency and respect for one another, would have sent me back to the shop real fast.

same predicament. got my car serviced 3 weeks ago and paid via EFTPOS. i was charged $23.00 and that receipt was stapled to the invoice which totalled $230.00. i didn't notice it at the time, not for days actually. if the mechanic rings me after discovering his error then i'll oblige and come in and pay the difference, but how long will it be before he discovers it or reconciles his books.

...But In This Case I Wouldnt have gone back and paid :D

But i spose something you gotta consider when your lucky enough to be undercharged is all the times that they accidently overcharge you and you dont find out....

Hehehe I cant ever remember paying for coffee and cake after drinx!! Maybe KFC or chips, but you def. did the right thing by going back and paying. I would like to think I would have done the same. Well done, :) and you get the two thumbs up from me :thumbsu: :thumbsu: .
