What would you want for your second round pick?

Obviously my interest is from a crows perspective. Douglas? Vince?
On current form Douglas is worth more than a second rounder unless he wanted to move to us, tipping the scales in our favour. I'm not sure how Vince would go in our depleted midfield, copping a tag. Not great is my guess.

I'd do a deal for Douglas though, but the Crows won't be!

Bottom line, we need mids and I'd trade any of our picks for the right experienced player next draft.

Agreed ^^^ I'd say alot of our picks from future drafts would be available for experienced mids
Douglas and maybe upgrade your third rounder

Going to be a bizarre draft! The last 5 seasons have seen the draft pool drained significantly by expansion sides and pp's and now we are going to have two sides out of the first few rounds!

I am tipping a lot of people will be after our picks and there is no denying that our spine is great and midfield hopeless, Douglas is one of many we'd be considering to bolster the youngsters.

Isn't Vince playing in the SANFL?

Given this year is the first uncompromised (of sorts) our 2nd rounder is going to be quite high. And if we are prepared to trade it for Vince then we may as well draft Dayle Gartlet given both have baggage.

I think we are better to keep our draft picks to be honest. Trading picks leaves holes in your list in the future. For example trading for Byron picket for a second rounder has now left us with a hole on a player that would be 26 now.
Douglas is 26 and vince is 27, by the time Melbourne might be in finals contention these guys will be at the twilight of their careers while a young draft pick would be starting to become a best 22 player. You need to be very careful trading draft picks away, they are the future. If we want experienced players I would be looking at free agency

That would be true if had a (I hate to say it) competitive side. We need to get list back in order for our clubs survival rather than wait another 3-4 years for the list to be mature after another 3 years in the bottom 4. 150 games of shit does not stack up against 150 games of quality experience. We can afford a few blokes 25+ to balance up the list that was built on a flawed idea.

Is there any reason why you suggested Vince or Douglas? Do they want out? Would take either in a heart beat.
