Hi Guys,

I looked through some pages but couldn't find any info so excuse me if it's posted somewhere but I am wondering what's going on with him?

At the start of the year i would have thought he was in the top 3 players on the list and now he is wearing the vest and having 6 touches.

Has he been injured? Is this a being overlooked leadership issue? I just makes no sense considering how good he was last few years.

I'd say he is one of a number of senior players who's had to re-learn a lot of his game in terms of defensive play. In the past he may have got away with running one way only because his clearance work was so good. This year he's played some different roles (HFF and such) to broaden his game... hopefully it pays off in the long term.

Well summed up

hes justnot a very good footballer, and never has been

He only ever had big games against poor opposition, and disappeared against the good teams.

I hope we dont re-sign him, the money is better spent elsewhere.

I think other teams are finding ways to shut him out of the game. He's not overly quick or skilled and teams are tagging him heavily, which he cannot handle well at all. He's also not an overly smart footballer so he finds it hard to get into games when its not working for him. Adjusting to the game plan, as said above, is very hard for him (due to him not being a smart footballer). Him out of the leadership group must play some role. I believe he really loves the club and the playing group, and that he work so hard to get back into the leadership group and to regain trust that being stripped again really hurt him (particularly when he did nothing wrong this time).

Never has been a good footballer who only plays well against the poor teams? Please

He has always been somewhat inconsistant, but he has played some massive games against good opposition over the years

He should never have been removed from the leadership group: He was a leader, and I'm not convinced some of the others are. His hard work went unrewarded when he was stripped twice.

That would be a significant part of it you'd think.

I have to say though, his movement has been pretty limited lately. He seems only to be able to work in a straight line, no agility or evasive movement. He can still stick tackles but he's very 1 dimensional atm.

A few times I saw him go for the lose ball the last couple of games and he just can't run on to them and keep moving or freely change direction. He just pulls up and waits to be tackled or hopes he has an option. He's playing pretty slugishly atm.

Watch the Essendon game again. That's probably been his best game this year. And they're pretty good opposition the way they have played in most games this season.

I would agree with Captain Jack. He's had to work on his defensive side instead of see ball, get ball. His clearance work was great last year (Jamar to Moloney would work about four times a game on average last year - ranked first in the comp) but with the adaptation of a defensive edge and more than likely the loss of confidence losing his leadership position he has struggled somewhat.

Thanks for your input guys. Doesn't look good if he isn't injured for the future for him.

From an outsider looking in then he will be on the table come trade week if he doesn't improve in the last few games.

Maybe it's a case of, If the coach has no faith in me then why will i bust my guts for him attitude. Sad as can be one of the most

damaging kicks in the comp.

I have heard he has butted heads with Neeld and struggled with the new regime and game plan, each week he goes out to do his own thing in direct contrast to the game plan and instructs others to follow suit. Will be very surprised if Moloney is playing for MFC in 2013.

Not true, just a coloured memory of the past few years. He was BOG on QB 2010 for one.

Has appeared to play without heart the entire year though, and I have always felt him to be subpar when it comes to defensive running and tackling. He prefers to point and yell to his teammates than actually defend himself. Got away with this under Bailey and now that it has been found out he is not coping well.

He's being played out of position, maybe a groin injury affecting his speed and run. Would be surprised if he didn't come back strongly in the last few games of 2012, will play at the MFC in 2013 and be in much better form.

That probably sums it up guys. No one is really sure what has gone wrong or where the guy is going.

New game plan might be proving a bit tough for him. I would hope he's not bitter about the leadership group as that would just show immaturity of the highest order.

If he continues this way the club needs to part ways with him. Just not working.

Personally I'll be surprised if he's at the Dees next year.

Correct - the article put out by his management caused people to put him under the microscope

I know Beamer feels embarrassed about how that all went down

Unfortunately Brent Beamer Moloney won't be at our club when we challenge.....
He knows

Knows that he's not stupid.
Expect a mid to late 1st rounder for him......18-28 pick.....

That's some pretty serious accusations. I struggle to see him being a team cancer.

Sorry to intrude I know Brent personally and really can't see a club giving up a pick that early for Beamer. It's a superdraft this year.

If this were the case why would he be making the side at all? He's gotten the majority of games and has only now been dropped.

Got any inside info? I honestly think he'll stay and just put this year behind him in 2013

Does the grunt work sure, but definite one way mover. His lack of pace when moving defensive side is killing him under Neelds plan.

Also, first thing Neeld ever said to Beamer was "until you lose 8 kilos you're playing reserves". Didn't have much more to say until he dropped him from the leadership group either.

Not a great sign of respect for a red & blue bleeding current b&f in my opinion which probably hasn't helped his confidence.
