What a win by the Pies, and this match showed we have character and never give up.

Our experienced group stood out today, as did several youngsters. Paul Licuria was fantastic, and worked at the rate he usually does every week, rewarding him with once again 35 disposals. James Clement was a general in defence. Nothing got past Jimmy, and he ended with 23 touches and 8 marks. Anthony Rocca showed why he is selected as the fill in captain. He hasn't really adapted to the role the way we fans would have liked but today was terrific as a leader and was a big influence on the clubs comeback. Had 17 disposals most contested, took 7 marks and kicked 2 valuable goals. Chris Tarrant was the talk - after a 1 kick first half he finished with 5 and showed more passion towards the heart and worked much better for the footy and won out on his two opponents on him together, for the match in Norman and Teague. Chad Morrison held Kouta who was fantastic in the first two rounds, especially around the centre of the ground. Scott Burns was at his near best, and Tarkyn Lockyer played a great milestone game, finding the pill 26 times. Brodie Holland kicked 3 valuable goals and found the ball while tagging Camporeale. Shane Woewodin was also very good and was a tough contributor. Youngsters Nick Maxwell showed courage in his return to the senior side and got better every minute, while Julian Rowe after a shaky start got away and had an impact. The only negetive sign was probably Richard Cole and Rhyce Shaw who each had bad days.

Were you there LF50??? It was the ********en best. Great atmosphere and great heart by the boys.

ALL pies supporters should be satisifed with that win, and now look to next week, and try to kickstart the year.

A quick note to all those that had us at 0-7 after 7. Don't count your chickens...

Yep, very good win, showed alot of spirit, I thought you were pretty much gone half way through the third quarter after Carlton kicked away with about 3 or 4 goals. Licuria was outstanding.

TAZZA'S BACK!
CAM CLOKE'S BACK!

Well done pies. You guys looked a helluva lot hungrier then the casual attitude Carlton displayed and thoroughly deserved a win.

On these 2 though ... Tazz played well but was on a player who is honestly only good enough to take on an opposition's 3rd best forward, so I wouldn't talk his performance up too much.

Didn't really notice Cam Cloke, but on the way home from the ground, Triple M had him listed in the worst 3 on the ground.

Well

someone needed to Ruck While Pebs is out somewhere

Well, if collingwood put more time on Cam, he would've been good

So, you agree about Pebs? About time too!

Great win by the boys, I thought we were gone, but we came out all guns blazing in the 2nd half. Like Rocca flys High said.. Tarrant is definitely back, but i don't know about Cam Cloke, you need to give him more time..

Whitnall is still a hack, and Camporeale will always be a dog.

GO PIES!!! :)

I would just like to congratulate your mob on winning. It was a good, tough and close game for the most part and that I am tahnkful for. Whilst disappointed by the loss, I'm really not surprised - there was no doubt Collingwood were going to come out on fire, with their long time arch rivals inspiring them.

Licuria, Tarrant and Clement were fantastic I thought. Fevola is a ponce and I really do hope he plays at FB next week to get him going. ;)

BTW, I would like to know if you were impressed by any of our players?

Stevens was great, as he always will be. French dominated the ruck but didnt do enough around the ground. Fevolas attitude will always be questioned when he acts like he does...Waite was ok. Lappin and Houlihan did their jobs. Of the young guys Carazzo showed some nice signs and Johnson was OK for limited game time.

Thats what I noticed anyway. And thx for the congrats btw...nothin wrong with a "well done" after the end of a great and well fought out game. Unlike some others about^^

One thing i noticed was throughout the first half, whenever collingwood got the ball, they would go out to the wing and very wide. I mean every time. The second half you guys just consistently ran it straight through the center, and the results were on the scoreboard of how much better it is to take it straight down the guts. I think you kicked 15.1 or something in the second half.

Morrel did some ok things on Rocca and would be better suited to the 3rd tall.
Waite, Stevens and French were good.

What I thought was stupid was on 3AW someone rang up and said what was wrong with Eddie Betts, he was ok and it's his 3rd game of AFL footy FFS just because he is an aboriginal and small doesn't mean he'll be like Aaron Davey straight away, give him some time.

And another thing what is up with Whitnall going to the backline for the last few minutes of each quarter. If his oponent goes with him he does nothing apart from filling a hole. He should go back at less predictable moments of the game to rattle his oponent.

Tarrant only good against soft defenders and Carlton's defense today was as soft as you will ever get. Still much better performance, finally some spirit in the 2nd half and look what it can do for you. Only disappointment was Andrew Williams kicking two goals...mean hes done enough to earn a spot for the rest of the season :(

Stevens was pure class and he looked like winning the game for you at one stage. French dominated the ruck in the first half and was good throughout. No-one else really caught my eye but i must admit i wasn't paying that much attention to you guys.

GREAT WIN PIES!

GOOO PIESSS!!!! 1 of the most spirited win by the pies. you guys made me so happy and ill be smiling till we play them again. tarrant well done great 2nd half 1 of his best. licuria always fights for the ball and is detremined, B.O.G i reckon.

I reckon da PIES are back in ready for more wins :D

GO PIES ,,bad luck blues hahaha :p

In the press confrence MM said something along the lines of "some people are critical of Andrew Williams but when he came on in the last quater no one had the legs to go with him and he kicked 2 goals"

Willo was very handy, considering he had a hand in the win with those two goals!!!

As for the soft defenders - considering he had 2 on him all day - Teague is one of the most courageous defenders, while Digby Morrell can get angry - yet isn't a defender.

While I'm not one to bag Willo for no reason surely any of Lokan, Lonie, King could do that if they had fresh legs like Willo. Still he had a bad game but popped up at the right time.

Willo didn't do anything wrong, but he is a chance to be dropped for say Richards or Didak is they comeback next week
