What a win by the Pies, and this match showed we have character and never give up.
Our experienced group stood out today, as did several youngsters. Paul Licuria was fantastic, and worked at the rate he usually does every week, rewarding him with once again 35 disposals. James Clement was a general in defence. Nothing got past Jimmy, and he ended with 23 touches and 8 marks. Anthony Rocca showed why he is selected as the fill in captain. He hasn't really adapted to the role the way we fans would have liked but today was terrific as a leader and was a big influence on the clubs comeback. Had 17 disposals most contested, took 7 marks and kicked 2 valuable goals. Chris Tarrant was the talk - after a 1 kick first half he finished with 5 and showed more passion towards the heart and worked much better for the footy and won out on his two opponents on him together, for the match in Norman and Teague. Chad Morrison held Kouta who was fantastic in the first two rounds, especially around the centre of the ground. Scott Burns was at his near best, and Tarkyn Lockyer played a great milestone game, finding the pill 26 times. Brodie Holland kicked 3 valuable goals and found the ball while tagging Camporeale. Shane Woewodin was also very good and was a tough contributor. Youngsters Nick Maxwell showed courage in his return to the senior side and got better every minute, while Julian Rowe after a shaky start got away and had an impact. The only negetive sign was probably Richard Cole and Rhyce Shaw who each had bad days.
