The guy is a superstar, haven't seen him for a while though.

Is he injured or is he just horribly out of form.

Towards the end of last year he was staring for us and I genuinely think that he deserves his spot over a couple of our players.

You would think if he didn't play a game this year that he would probably be shown the door

mate i jus told u on msn that he was a hack. you use the term 'superstar' too losely. for chrissake calling Jackson a superstar makes Ackland look good!

He has potential, but doesn't seem to be getting a chance in the 1's. It's the same for Blackwell, Pfieffer, Austin and Edwards.

I hope Jacko doesn't get shown the door and hopefully he gets a crack in the 1's in the 2nd half of the year.

One question, is he playing well in the two's?

barring an injury crisis, he'll struggle to ever see a seniors game again

and id same the same goes for blackwell, if hes lucky he'll get one more crack at seniors, and if he doesnt grab it by the horns then hes goneski aswell

its a shame, i thought he looked ok. cant find a spot for him in the side at the moment. i guess he'd be competing with bentick and hadley, who are both a fair way ahead (depiste hadleys injury).

we have 2 superstars in our team, Fev and Judd. I'd have to say that he isn't as good as either of those guys.

Settle down i didn't go that far.

All I'm saying is that he was a real good young player for us last year and it seems that in his case one bad 1st half of the season and hes gone.

I don't want to see him get the chop based on "our midfield is too strong"

See, that wasn't so hard was it?

Jackson is very much a "very talented" player, he is still young, and rest assured he will in no way "be shown the door" at years end, he is very much a part of Carltons' future, and he is a very talented young footballer, has struggled with injury for a fair crack of this year, but expect him to make a prominant contribution next season....

I agree you guys are being way too harsh on him. I'd I seriously doubt he will be delisted unless he is playing absolutely terrible footy in the two's.

Unfortunetly boxman and others you have to be realistic, their is going to be up to 6 players gone by the year end and guys like Bannister and Wiggins have been playing too good football and are still under 30 and won't be cut. They only 25,not 28.

Saddington And Ackland, who not needed as a Ruck would be gone, then you have Blackwell on the books who had several Seasons still not permanently in the 22.

The next guy is Asaike Ohailipin and Ryan Jackson who got a spot like Craig Flint for good development last year but have both struggled more this year. Ryan Jackson spots get's taken over from more midfield recruits next season.

Adam Hartlett on his 4th Season so he really needs to get in that 22 by years end and play a bunch of good games.

Jake Edwards in his 3rd Season, who could get cut if not performing, maybe he could be re rookie? then finally Clinton Benjamin and Joe Anderson on their 2nd with Mark Austin, but Austin is surely safe and having a big year in the VFL.

Joe Anderson would be stiff to get cut,he did well in his first season and has been out injured,i hope Ratten rates him and seen him play a bit for the bullants and not end up like Flint.

Fair summation.

Playing decent football, but there is no growth, little improvement to come if any.

If we keep decent-average players and clear out those who have potential to rise above them then we'll be going backwards.

Having said that, Jackson needs to continue to work hard to improve his game to get to the consistent standard that is required at AFL level to do this. Will need to put the hard yards in to earn his place.

I know him personally. A quality bloke who has been very unlucky two years in a row with hand injuries. Before his latest injury he was looking good. I think we need to cut him some slack.

Jackson shows more promise at this stage than Anderson, OhAilpin, Blackwell, Bannister and Benjamin IMHO, are people forgetting the last 4 games he played for us last year, he kept some very talented footballers quiet and did very well himself?...

Too cut him from our list would be a very disappointing thing, he deserves to be given another year or two to fully display his ability, this young bloke will be a very good footballer...

But where do we play him?

But where do we play him?
I'll grant you that, it's a nice predicament for the club to be in, we at long last have a list that means you must be 110% on top of your game if you want to get a gig week in week out.....

Incidently who do we drop when Houlihan and Walker are fit?, does anyone deserve to be dropped at this stage?......

But to answer your question he could fit the role of a running half back, or utility player, it's a hard team to get into and I'm not saying he is ready "right now", what I am saying is that it would be a shame for the club to delist him at the end of this seasson, he should be given more time before we decide he is not worthy of a full time spot, the boy shows alot of promise and I for one think we should show a little faith.....

I fully expect him to be shown the door. Far back in the pecking order, at the moment.

Must have had a brain fart when I posted that - I could've sworn this thread was about Blackwell?

I'm more reserved about Jackson - he's at least shown he can perform decently at AFL level, but he's up against it at the moment. Like Blackwell, he's a fair way back in the pecking order - unlike Blackwell, I don't think his fate is set in stone just yet.
