Myself and 2 friends are travelling down from Sydney for the Richmond game this weekend.

Any tips on where to sit at the MCG with all the work that's going on, preferably near or with other Swans members / fans.

Thanks,

Phil

Dont Bother ;)

Sit as far away as possible from any pack of feral, deranged Richmond supporters. Mind you, if Richmond lose you will be quite safe. Its supporters always turn on each other and their own team.

2 years ago we were down for Syd v Carlton, and went to Richmond v Collingwood on Friday night. Collingwood won the game easily, and when the Collingwood theme started playing, a Richmond fan in his late 50's stormed out of the ground, with his hands over his ears, not wanting to hear the Collingwood theme. One of the funniest things I have ever seen.

The Collingwood theme does that to a lot of people - fortunately it's not heard very often these days. :)

To answer you original question - the CS will be sitting at the Ponsford Stand end. Behind or beside them will get you near fellow Swannies

You are going to need to sit undercover as it is going to be a shocker of a day weather wise.

With the current works going on, the feral's will be sitting in the Southern Stand at the Punt road end of the ground.

Would imagine that a great place to sit with other red and white supporters (and the cheer squad) will be behind the goals in the new Ponsford stand. Should be plenty of undercover seats at the back of level 1 and up on the level 3. The new facitlities are awesome to.

Anyone going to Cricketers around 12.00pm for a drink before the game?

We'll be in the new stand behind the goals. There will be plenty of room there. So plenty of chance to grab a seat with us in the Cheer Squad. Or if you are more adventurous, even grab a flag/sign/or pom pom.

If you want to be amongst Swans supporters (and our Melbourne Cheer Squad are among the best), come and say Hi. I'll be up the back of the Cheer Squad waving a big flag with red and white diamonds. Robbie will be somewhere nearby.
