No, I have a collection of Carlton news articles at home and one from the Herald Sun states that Essendon offered Bolton, but Carlton said no. The Blues wanted Ted Richards.

The Herald Sun is not a Carlton news article. It's a neutral report.

Bolton for Campo was done, Bolton wouldn't go.

Matty Allen was a good player for us, until he got injured and Campo hasn't even had a chance to show anything due to his injuries
