Just wondering what everyone out there uses.

Personally Firefox for me, I do a bit of web design / development and it seems to be the best browser for css. Which is the same reason why I despise IE.

I've used Google's chrome a little bit and I like what I see, I haven't noticed the apparent speed of it myself, it still has a way to go to compete with Firefox imo, but considering how new it is it's done quite well.

Also heard from one of my lecturers that IE8 is meant to be very promising

Firefox, IE8, Safari and Chrome depending on what site. OS, site etc

some sites only work with ie, chrome if i'm in windows, firefox and safari in OSX. some sites not so good in safari

Almost all of them!

Working from home through various databases, I need to use ie7 specifically for many Australian sites because in some cases it is all they support. I use it reluctantly.

Firefox is mainly set up for work, so that I can use that for searching information without over tabbing ie7.

I'd use Chrome more if it didn't have so many quirks and it is not very customisable.

Safari 4 Beta is what I am currently using. Has some quirks and works better on the Mac, but the eye-candy speed dial makes the others look amateurish (took forever to taylor though).

Which sites only work in Chrome? never heard of that.

And btw for those that don't know IE8 final version "supposedly" will be released in 2 days

Chrome.

I like the minimal interface and I find it is much quicker than any other browser. The homepage of your top 9 most viewed sites is brilliant as well.

Depending on what I'm doing
For every day sh!t, firefox easily. for school work Safari because of .mac & my bookmarks for school. For my photography & social stuff I use Flock syncs so easy.

Why anyone would not use Firefox with AdBlock is beyond me. Its like watching TV and choosing not to skip through ad breaks. Firefox also has many other great add-ins.

On the rare occasion I venture onto a site that contains functionality not Firefox supported, I generally use Chrome. Amazing how prominent ads are when you are not used to seeing them. Generally leads me to closing the browser asap.

Any site which specifically requires IE to use I simply do not visit.

Most of the time I use Safari, sometimes Firefox, at work it's IE as it is the only option...

Firefox all the way. You have to laugh when Educational and Workplace networks force you to use IE, and their technicians explain why? Why these places would not use firefox is beyond me, not like its hard to set up or anything. Only thing that ive come across that doesn't work in Firefox is my Uni's 'Submit Assessment' pages and strangely enough, the AFL site works a lot better in IE, and you can only stream replays by using it.

/facepalm telstra.

Totally agree. There is an addon for firefox called ietab which means you don't even have to go into IE for an IE compatible web site.

Chrome. New dev updates (ver 2.0.169.1) making it better everytime. Just wait until the API for addons and it will be the best around town

Chrome looks nice, but until it has the addons I need I'll stick with Firefox.

I don't know why but check out firefox again (streaming replays) I use to have that problem but I think it's fixed. Just out of curiosity, what answers do they give when you ask why they don't supply firefox?

I still think it will be a year or so off being able to compete for the best....but I do like what I see with Chrome. As someone else said the 'most visited' home page is very clever

I'm still on Opera, hassle free browsing and I have it customised to suit my needs.

I am however about to format my harddrive and put on Windows 7 so I may give the latest Firefox another run. It annoyed me last time though.

I'm on Firefox. However I just clicked something or pressed something and now most things (general words) are green highlighted with a link connected to it.

Anyone know how to disable this or what it's called?

I think its a BF thing, which I made a thread about in the suggestions area...

The only thing stopping Chrome from being a #1 browser is the API for addons. Nothing is really holding it back

I have to admit, at first I hated chrome but the whole minimalist look and feel to it is actually growing on me:)

To say it's better then firefox however......well I think it still has a little way to go

This thread reminded me of Chrome so I tried it again tonight to see what was new with it, but I had a problem with uploading pictures to Image Shack. Anyone else experienced this?

If you haven't used it in a while, then you definitely need to upgrade to a newer version. Newest version out via the dev channel is 2.0.169.1.

Download this: http://chromium.googlecode.com/files/chromechannel-2.0.exe and change the channel to 'dev'

Then restart Chrome. Click the spanner/tools menu and then 'About Chrome'. It will check for updates and find 2.0.169.1
