After having a look at the fixture, i'm still undecided as to which games i see us winning and losing. i think next eyar will be a far closer competition, especially between the top sides. I can not see the Cats or Saints winning 20 games again (as they have done previously) and i think that the challengers (Dogs, Hawks, Pies, Crows?) will be much closer to them.

As for us, we have a tough run... Cats, Dogs, Saints and Hawks twice in 22 rounds. I think that Carlton will be a far easier prospect to overcome without Fevola, however the Lions with Brown and now Fevola could trouble us.

All in all, i think that we have 11 games which we will win (or that im confident of winning) - at this current point in time obviously. The remaining 11, can go either way - such as the games against the Cats, Dogs, Hawks, Saints, Crows (x1), Bombers?

I'm tipping us to win around 16-17 games this season and as a result for us to hopefully retain a top four spot. I think that Geelong will finish 1st, followed by the Dogs 2nd and the Saints 3rd. I see the Crows, Hawks and Bombers also pushing for the remaining top 8 spots.

How many do you think we will win? Which ones will we striggle with? Where do you think those wins will place us??

We have an extremely tough draw next year. We will be lucky to win 14-15 games. I'd say we will win probably 11-13 and hopefully make the 8. I don't think we will make the top four. Top four will be Geelong, Saints, Doggies and the Hawks IMO.

Games we will probably lose;

Round 1 vs Western Bulldogs; We are a terrible round 1 team, and the Doggies will be flying early, but will fade later in the season.

Round 3 vs StKilda; StKilda at the Docklands, tough ask in round 3.

Round 4 vs Hawthorn; We just can't beat them it seems.

Round 9 vs Geelong; Still a top team, will be close though.

Round 22 vs Hawthorn; The Dawks will stop our 12 game win streak in the last round, when they have to win as we will be safely in the top 4.

Could throw in the 2nd Geelong game as well, and maybe the Brisbane in Brissy game, but I think we travel like rock stars.

That gives us a record of 17-5, 2nd, at worst 3rd on the table, I'd be happy with that.

St Kilda 2 - 0 Collingwood (See them as being the hardest team to beat. We don't seem to matchup well against them at all and being a quality team will be hard for us to even win 1/2)
Geelong 1 - 1 Collingwood (I see them as being pretty beatable, I think 1-1 is a fair target, we matchup well on them and with many players having limited pre seasons and with the retirement of Harley, aging list and other factors I think we can beat them atleast once)
Western Bull Dogs 1 - 1 Collingwood (Always good games, we matchup well against them but it is always a fight and being the stronger side have won 4/5 of their last games against us. I think we will split the wins between us again this year)
Hawthorn 1 - 1 Collingwood (With Jolly and Ball who both play well against them I think we will be a better chance, always gone with Hawthorn previously in the last 2 years, but I will tip based on form at this stage)
Brisbane 1 - 0 Collingwood (With Fevola and Brown we will have some trouble), ultimately I expect Brisbane to finish 6th/7th

16-6 = 4th

Worst case scenario is probably 14 - 8 5th/ 6th
Best case 17 - 5 I would think. 3rd/ 4th

1 WESTERN BULLDOGS loss
2 DEMONS win
3 SAINTS loss
4 HAWKS loss
5 BOMBERS win
6 BLUES win
7 ROOS win
8 DOCKERS win
9 CATS loss
10 LIONS win
11 DOGS win
12 DEMONS win
13 SWANS win
14 EAGLES win
15 PORT ADELAIDE win
16 SAINTS loss
17 TIGERS win
18 BLUES win
19 CATS win
20 BOMBERS loss
21 CROWS win
22 HAWK win

16-6
2nd.

We need to aim to beat St Kilda, Bulldogs, Geelong and Hawthorn at least once, or 50% from thee 8 games.

We need to clean sweep Essendon, Carlton and Richmond.

Keep up our good record interstate and beat the dud sides and we should be looking at 15 wins.

We will go undefeated all season and win the flag. Swan will win the Brownlow. Josh Thomas will win rising star after only playing 2-3 games and Heater will win Norm Smith. :p

Brisbane 1 - 0 Collingwood (With Fevola and Brown we will have some trouble), ultimately I expect Brisbane to finish 6th/7th

We have beat brisbane what 2 times in a row now and were robbed in another at the gabba. This year Medders beat them off his own boot this year in the 3rd qtr.I think we have their measure and will have it for quite a few years

Our defence is one of the the best in the comp.Their once formidable midfield is slowing down.Ours has got better with Ball and Jolly.I dont think the Fev/Brown combo will be too much better than the Bradshaw/Brown version.IMO I actually think that Brown might have to play a bit further up the ground to facilitate Fev,which could cause some old injuries to pop up.They have no crumbers whatsoever and they are one injury(Black) off being a very mediocre team.

cant say if we will beat or loose to any side until game day however i am confident in the squad we have we will finish top four - taking into account the tough draw ahead of us

I can't see Collingwood losing to Carlton, better forward line, better backline, and i'm pretty confident that Kreuzer's lack of experience will give Jolly/Fraser the edge in the ruck.

next season more than ever it is vital that we don't drop games that collingwood has a history of losing..

carlton games
richmond games
essendon games
these are all must wins.

also, as mentioned previously, we need to be able to step up and win some games that right now we might think we aren't going in. we need to try and break even in the stkilda/geelong/bulldogs/hawthorn games. lose all these games and that's 8 games we've lost, add another couple of games that we could drop and it's pretty much season over.

We have a very hard draw, and therefore we need to step up and deliver.

none.

i don't look to lose anything. nothing about being a realist. you should never go into a battle expecting a loss.

have it in your mind that will will never lose. i'm sure the players have that mindset. we should have the confidence in them.
