.... do you think you'll enjoy watching the most, keen to watch develop and become a big part of our club?

(Only selected players for the poll that have played senior games)

And i think it's going to be debatable whether or not a couple of them will be on a list next year, i probably should have only included a core of 6 or 7 of the better ones that we'll know become an integral part of the team. (Bird, Hannebery, Jetta, Johnson, Parker, Reid and Rohan)

Line ball between 4 or 5 of them for mine, they all offer something in different areas.

Rohan I think will give the most in multiple areas around the ground. So I picked the rooster

I choose Reid as he really gets me excited when I see him run and jump at the ball. There's going to be a lot more to see from him.

But in saying that that's an impressive list of potential stars.

Very tough for me to pick between Rohan and Reid but I went with Gaz just. His speed and outrageous athleticism hopefully combined with a larger frame as he ages could turn him into a player the likes of which we've only seen once before (in one A.Goodes).

Yeah tough call for me as well. I made my decision like this;

Rohan could turn into a Goddard type player
Reid could become a Franklin type player

Franklin led Hawthorn to a Premiership
Goddard did not

Reid gets my vote :)

Reid for sure, if he can become a more accurate kick over summer, he could start kicking some serious bags next year at only 20 years of age. Already he's having about 4 or 5 shots at goal a game for a return of one or two goals. Imagine if he started consistently kicking 4 or 5 goals a game. Could be an absolute star.

And the great thing is he is already attracting a heap of attention from the opposition and STILL getting those shots at goal, so it's not as if he'll suffer from any increase in attention in the future, and if anything will get less as we get a better forward line built around him with a credible second forward in either Spangher, Everitt, White, or LJ.

Tough question. Initially I thought Reid but then thought about what a massive game Bird had on the weekend. I just sense he could be something really special. I don't know many times in a game I say to myself "clever little hand ball" or "smart kick" and it is Craig.
So, I love Sammy A LOT he's special already IMO but Bird is the one for me. Just makes you realise how lucky we are with some of the names on that list to choose from.

I'm surprised Hannebery hasn't got a mention yet.

Y'know, the rising star winner from last year?!

How quickly some forget:p

Honestly, though I would be surprised if he doesn't come top 5 in or B&F this year. His last 10 weeks have been extremely good, and he's only just turned 20.

Hanners gets my vote!

Reid. Easy choice. Not that the others aren't great to watch, just that a key forward in full flight is the best sight in football.

This *100, Reid is already throwing himself at packs and taking strong contested marks, something I'll never get tired of watching, we need to do everything possible to hang onto this guy.

Just did a quick google search to find his age.

He was 16 years old in February 2010 according to this http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...eat-for-jack-jnr/story-e6frexwr-1225828469134

He was 16 years old in March 2011 according to this http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...y-join-the-swans/story-e6frexwr-1226024692489

:confused::o

I am willing to bet he was born on the 29th of February and in reality he is actually 64 years old.

Also on another note Sam Reid has been threatening to kick a bag of goals for a few weeks now. If anyone had to bet when do they think Sam will have his breakout game and kick 5 goals (5 goals being my definition of a bag of goals)?

Hey, the scoreboard at the game on the weekend said that AJ was a year older than he really is, so who knows. I have a feeling he will be eligble for the draft next year not this year.

Jack is still 17, so we'll have to make do with watching him run around with Henry's boys next season. Hoping we will also get an early sneak preview next year of Lloyd Perris, one of the last scholarship players the Swans signed. He has just won the Rams MVP award in the recent U16 championships, so he is yet another year away from being eligible for the draft.

In terms of the question posed by the thread

- I am excited by Jetta's pace and his potential when he learns to really use it to advantage
- I am excited by Rohan's pace and all around unpredictability
- I am excited by Hanners' drive and determination
- I am excited by Parker's bullocking
- I am excited by Johnston's kicking ability
- I am excited by AJ's composure
- I am excited by Bird's ability to stick to a task, and also his quick hands
- I am excited by TDL's nose for a goal and straight kicking

I also think that Heath and Sumner have real AFL potential if they want it (in Sumner's case) and injury permitting (in Heath's case). Nipper is still quite raw but has improved significantly this year in the reserves.

It is hard to go past Reid though. What impresses me the most about him is that he seems to instinctively understand how hard a senior AFL key forward needs to work to get to contests, and he seems to really relish the contest. You see other young KPFs come into the game with similar athleticism and marking ability but it takes them several seasons to learn where to run to to be dangerous, and to have the confidence to really compete. Not Sam. He seemed to "get it" almost from day 1.

It's hard to judge between Reid and Rohan, it's Reid on exposed form, but it could have been a different story if Rohan had managed an injury free season.

.... do you think you'll enjoy watching the most, keen to watch develop and become a big part of our club?

its a hard question I enjoy watching all of them, but I especially enjoy watching them all develop together.

I am surprised Parker hasent got any votes but I could say the same about all of them. Reid is the standout because its a hard position to fill and one that we sort of have no one else and really needed and he stood up and took to it with both hands, literally.

There's no doubt Reid's gonna be an out and out superstar, he's already most of the way there, its mainly his kicking letting him down. Btw in answer to the question, Reid will kick his first bag against Brisbane in rnd 24.

But the one I really want to see develop is parker. He's going to be an absolute gun, he'll be a mix of Jude bolton & kieran jack, Sydney's answer to Chris judd - bookmark it!!

All of them could be superstars by each slightly fine-tuning an attribute.

Reidy if he converts set-shots.
Hanners if he uses his uncontested possies more efficiently.
Birdy if he can bob up with a few goals occasionally (ie Dogs game)
Jets if he goes hard when it's his turn to go.

Lukey P, Gaz & Johnno are special talents but it's difficult to critique these guys given the number of games they've played.

Love em all :thumbsu:

The only player in that list who has elite potential is Sam Reid. Hannebery has the potential to be an excellent player, Bird and Parker have the potential to be very good with excellent patches of the year, Jetta has the potential to be solid to good. I never got to see much of Rohan at junior level and don't feel confident making judgments on him yet. Luke Parker does have a higher ceiling than what I have given him here, although he'll never be an elite midfielder he could be in the next group, but I just regard him as more likely to be very good

Sort of agree but it's risky putting a ceiling on a player. First look at Kirk would have seen a prediction of average at best. Ended up being excellent, so while Reid is the most likely I wouldn't rule out someone like Jetta producing similar to Wells this year at some stage down the track.
