Which young recruit from this years draft should we crucify next year ?

In the tradition of Josh Kennedy from 05 & now it seems Grigg from 06.... who do we call to be delisted next year ?

Browne ?

Obviously they will all need to show instant improvement & a capacity to make the right decisions 100% of the time or the lynch mob will gather.

Geezzz, Imagine if we did recruit Goddard.

He took several years to "come good" & at times went backwards before taking massive strides forwards...... and even then he will obviously continue to develop.

Some of the threads & comments within this week have been nothing short of stupidity & obviously show a total lack of knowledge about the game from those posting within.

It's obvious that many here havent actually played or participated in team sports or been involved at clubs for a period of time where you see juniors develop & really blossom.
Not all do, that is correct, but history has shown time and time again that it takes generally 4 years or 70odd games to get close to putting together a level of consistant performance.

Hodge ring any bells ? (Leo Barry, Kade impson, Hamish McIntosh etc etc etc)

O.K. speculate or make an educated opinion (if that is what you are doing) on a 4th or even 3rd year player, but 2nd year 18-19 year olds..... come on, THINK ABOUT IT.

Lets hope the demographic of our supporters dont hold these views or I feel we may be evolving into a navy blue Richmond - it makes me sick:thumbsd:

ps - These thoughts are directed at the comments made, not individual posters.

What a dumb thread.

Which players are you actually referring to?

Not many people have been slagging off Grigg, he's been showing a lot of promise.

If you're referring to the slagging off of Russell and Edwardo Betts, then forget it, because the slagging off is completely justified.

As for your Luke Hodge example, I think everybody who knows anything about football appreciated that Hodge was an absolute gun the first day he set foot on a football field. Who ever doubted Hodge's ability?

Also, who ever doubted Goddard? Goddard is a jet with a beautiful leg and excellent understanding of the game.

Unlike your good self.

Spare me...

well said buddy too many people on here you get the feeling have never played the game and unless you have played and been through the process of learning ( ages 18 - mid 20s ) you dont understand.
too many trying to be funny on here and the immaturity shines through .....great post

I can see it now. It's round 16 and the word around is: "Kreuzer not worthy of pick 1".

The kid will be a star, but will take 2-3 years to develop. But, i'm sure that won't stop opposition fans and some of our own bagging his selection.

Kreuzer. I don't know why we drafted the hack. We keep persisting with him in NAB cup and pre-season matches despite the fact he has never been best on ground or polled a single brownlow vote. I reckon he's probably got this weeks game against West Coast to dominate or I'm writing him off.

Ille Nastase Board.

Obviously you've only been here 5 minutes.

You have a very selective memory.

im still trying to understand why this thread was made up

Just an observation over time, in particular the wave that was generated over a petty NAB cup clash more recently.

Wow. You should be the LAST one to suggest that others are wrong for claiming that the recruiters got it wrong. Who could forget your classic thread?
